Agreed, although I think Gus may get a HC job this cycle.

They should be very concerned because their team is a joke and Gus will likely leave at seasons end.

I'm hoping the defense will start looking better now that we have all the spread offenses out of the way. Playing against traditional offenses with drop back passers allow the defenders to know where the attack is coming from and react instead of having to think to much. For perspective it is also worth noting that a certain #1 ranked team with a lot of inexperienced defenders playing its 1st road game also gave up 35 pts and got beat by 14 by another school from South Carolina. Somehow that team recovered well enough to win 10 games. Granted that team had more talented players and an easier schedule but I'm not ready to write off any game as a sure loss at this point.

yeah...pretty weak flame attempt. Better question and flame would be "is this the worst defense in the history of the SEC?". I would consider that a legitimate question. If somehow we can keep Gus around, and Roof is gone after this year, we will be just fine. The D is far, far too bad to not lose a lot of games this year. I'll feel lucky at this point if we can manage to beat Ole Miss and squeak out 5 wins. Ted Rood needs to find another line of work. Football is obviously not his thing.

One year removed from a BCS championship, and Auburn looks like it may be irrelevent for many years to come. They might lose by 20+ to both LSU and Bama this year. Doesn't look good imo.

I guess they allow anyone to make an account on here.

Was last year your first year following college football?

ETA: It's just that, well, you don't seem to know much about it.

What he said.

Many would like to believe that all Aubies are so shocked to be beaten by Clemson. I saw us at 1-2 after the first 3 games. So it's looking up so far.

meh - i figured that we would have lost to either State or Clemson anyway - so the fact we are 2 and 1 is some solace.

unless the D improves - I think bama, LSU amd Arky are gonna result in Skull frickings.

Yeah I don't know why some people thinks Auburn fans are flipping out over this, lol. Most have said a 7 win year would be good. Things are going about they way I expected.

Not great, but expected.

I am going to disagree. Being 2 and 1 and the offense going pretty well is good...but I cannot look at #117 in D and think things are "looking up". The only positive I got was Ted Roof 100% being fired no later than the end of the season.

The third consecutive year of shitty defense. It has to stop.

That was somewhat of a joke to put perspective on how low my expectations were pre-season.
