Like I said before. Home run hire. I just didn't understand the "he has no reason to leave".

If he lives up to the hype, other programs will certainly come calling. I would expect Auburn to compete financially with any offer. We obviously can't compete with history.
Are we the end-all for basketball? Certainly not. However, all Pearl had to do was wait another year or so and could have a better choice of programs. It's not like he was hurting financially or had to take a lower tier job to rebuild a reputation.

Auburn should have built a huge palace like the "blue bloods" at Duke, right?
The arena we built is perfect for Auburn, or was at the time of it's opening, at least. We have no need for a huge arena that is known for being great around the country. Basketball hasn't been good in a while at Auburn, so there's no reason to build a huge arena that would never be able to sell out. Bruce Pearl will hopefully be able to make Auburn a household name in basketball.

Very probably pearl will love au and want to spend the rest of his career at au if he is successful.
