Tennessee had almost the exact same record the year before pearl got there that AU had last year and he went 22-8(12-4) in his first year

True. But that UT roster had a lot more talent than Auburn's current roster.

3. The SEC is pretty much up for grabs other than 2 SEC East teams. Auburn is in the SEC West, Pearl can have AU winning the East in at least a year if I had to bet on it.

You really keep up with your SEC basketball...

Excellent recruiter. I could see him snagging a prospect or two from the mid state area(tennessee), but he's not going to be able to get an elite kid out of Memphis. BUT he doesn't have to, I expect he'll focus on Atlanta.

But has everyone already forgotten that SC was just as excited to snag Frank Martin, who had some pretty decent success himself in a major basketball league? SC still sucks.

year one: 14-18 (12th in SEC)
year two: 14-20 (13th in SEC)

Meh I didn't realize it...no fricks to give

I'm a Bama fan we committed bball program suicide anyway

Ok so restructuring that thought, top 3 or 4 still likely gets him in the Tourney, not to mention if you guys remember the committees every year seemed to seed UT higher because of Pearl

Just stop. Pearl was blackballed by the NCAA for a decade, they weren't doing him any favors with seeding because of who he was.

yeah, the NCAA is Bruce Pearl's biggest fan, clearly evidenced by how they've treated him over the years.....

Despite Pearl's success at turning Southern Indiana into a major power, it took him almost a decade to return to Division I; reportedly, he was blackballed by the Division I college coaching fraternity for his role in inadvertently revealing violations at Illinois by submitting a different, deceptive accusation.

Sorry, not blackballed by the NCAA, just all the coaches.

I don't think anyone honestly believes he will be immediately successful at a place like Auburn. It will take him about 5 years to get things turned around. His recruiting ban doesn't help.
His recruiting ban ends in 4 months - sooner if Auburn can urge the NCAA to lift it for "time served".... The very NCAA dude that put the ban on Bruce is in AU compliance now, so he probably has an inside path to the NCAA to get Bruce off early.

It only takes one recruiting class to be competitive in the sec he will have AU as a top 5 sec program in 2 years and top 3 in 3-5 years

The number 5 and 6 teams were closer to getting in than the number 3, conference standings mean nothing.
