So not really that many. And not a lot of turnover in comparison to other schools.
Basketball doesn't have turn over for schools who win.
A coach who wins at "a school who shouldn't" will have all kinds of schools come at their coach. (See: Mizzou, Butler, Wichita St., aTm, etc).
Basically, there are a handful of schools who do not have to worry about coaches being poached by other schools, do not have to worry about coaches wanting to leave their school.
Auburn isn't in that category, currently, Wichita St and Butler was not either until they found an elite coach who did not want to leave their school for a "big" school.
Main factor is money, you have to pay to keep these coaches, see Mizzou, when they land at a tier1 job, the school starts paying based on results, the school doesn't have to worry as match about matching offers as few serious offers come at these guys. Now, coaches may leave these jobs on occasion, but is usually to stay a step ahead of being fired.

Exactly. He has been very successful at every stop. Auburn will be no different.

No way Pearl gets considered for any of those schools.
Never said he would be.
Being in the SEC was a major factor in his decision, for some reason, so if you look at the jobs that would be better than Auburn now, it would be easier to list the ones that are equal or less being, aTm, Carolina.
If you reevaluate after 2-3 years where he potentially could have the program, then the better jobs reduces to Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee.
Tennessee is really the only one who may have a job opening in the near future.

Another 2 jobs you didn't mention that are Michigan State and Florida. I think Izzo and Donovan both test the NBA at some point. Both have flirted with it in the past.
Pitino is also getting up there in age at Louisville.

not really. Higher paid Major conference coaches, sans "big Basketball Schools" dont have that much poaching. Mid majors etc... yes

What schools do you think are bigger that would poach from Auburn/Pearl? its not that many

Izzo

Pistons will make a massive push for him this offseason apparently. Owner is a MSU grad and loves Izzo.

What did Bomani have to say to Coach?
Posted on 3/19/14 at 5:09 pm to ArabianKnight
Well. He's got a hefty buyout. He's AU's for at least 3 years. If he's winning at that time, no reason to move. I think he's the type that wants to be the "it" man at a school and set history there. He's all about his legacy. Not a whole lot of history to top at AU.

I believe just Cleveland.
I heard a scenario the other day that the "Knicks" would buyout Crean at Indiana so that Woodson would have a soft landing spot when they fire him to bring in Jackson's pick as HC.

Let the gump have some hope. If Pearl wins at Auburn, there is no reason to go anywhere. We pay our coaches great. We spend top dollar on recruiting. We have a new facility, and practice facilities, that are second to none. They play in an eyesore with a coach that couldn't win on the road this year. Check and mate!
