He's also lost two bowl games in a row. If we make it three I bet there starts to be some talk.

He just won an SEC championship and made it to the first ever college football playoff. He lost to the eventual national champions. Alabama hasn't had less than 10 wins since his first season.

Maybe someone thinks he's doing a poor job, but that someone is a moron.

It's a cult

No two ways about it. The most interesting thing will be his replacement. .....would you want to follow Saban at Bama?

I would. Stockpiles of talent, can probably keep some of the staff, will be making a few million dollars a year, etc. Sounds like a good gig.

only because the unemployed people would be processed to MGCCC

edit: I should have known this joke would have already been made. should have read the thread.

I feel like a coach at another school has already had success by simply following Saban...

Laugh at you for comparing college baseball to college football. I know LSU fans likes to toot the baseball horn, but come on when it comes to comparing the popularity of the two
Skip Bertman to Baton Rouge is equally as big as Saban to Bama. Bertman not only was a baseball coach, he was the AD over the most prosperous times in LSU history. Facts, get you some

Yes, the two situations are exactly the same

Insecure much?

Miles did better with Saban's guys though, so there's that.

But Cowherd knows that there's no way Saban will go to Bama. So he must have just made all of this up.

I've made the comparison of Penn State and Bama in their fanbases coach/hero worship. It's weird and cultlike and can lead to bad things. However, Saban is a professional businessman and will retire long before he's in the Paterno stage.

Of course. This is true for Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida State, South Carolina, Penn State AGAIN, and about 20 other places where the coach has been successful and the fans/alumni care more about football than any other aspect of the university.

Cowherd specifically mentioned Ohio State and Meyer as being the opposite of Bama in this regard. He said Meyer isn't anywhere near as controlling and doesn't have nearly the leverage Saban has over Bama.

Not sure I agree just paraphrasing what I heard on my drive to work.

I should have know this would make its way here.

What in the hell are you smoking, son?

No one said he is doing a poor job. However, we are all under the impression that Alabama is in this to win championships. No consolation prizes blah blah blah. Isn't that what you all spout on here constantly?

I guess I've been reading a different board

You dont think the man that created college baseball, won LSU 5 national titles, was the AD during our FIRST FOOTBALL TITLE IN ALMOST 50 YEARS, and was the AD over the resurgence of both LSU football and basketball is that big? Agree to disagree i guess

Well to be fair, we in Baton rouge do, which is the only thing that matters for my argument. Also, he then became AD over 2 NATIONAL titles in football and an NCAA final four. Skip Bertman is huge in BR

You gotta feel sorry for anyone too stupid to realize that "Coach" is a professional title, like Doctor, General, Admiral, Reverend, etc.

Could you imagine a DA going up to George Patton and saying "Hey Patton!"

Sometimes it's good to think a little bit before you post.
