This will get flamed and bring out the butthurt, but Bama is the only fanbase that refers to the head coach of their University as "Coach_____" . For example, "I think Coach Saban will have the team ready today". That is just so damn creepy to me You never played for him you freaking weirdos

Does it creep you out that we call it The University? The Aubs hate that.

The term "coach" in that scenario is meant as a form of deep respect for a person in that profession. Would you call Coach Lombardi,Vince?...Coach Halas, George?...Coach Rockne, Knute?....on second thought, you probably would.

Talked about how it can stop rational decision making when one party has too much power. Saban loses to auburn and gets a 30% pay raise, boosters paying off his house etc. saban owns the state of AL and this can be unhealthy (also gave Paterno as an example)

That's silly. Saban's success at Alabama is pretty much unmatched at the moment. He's bringing in a ton of revenue for the school. What are people supposed to do? He's the type of coach that's necessary at UA. Most great HCs at most schools have tons of political capital.

Comparing it to Penn State is silly. I don't see him as the type who'd let one person jeopardize the entire operation.

Ask any Alabama kid to name the governor of Alabama and see if you get an answer - then ask 'em who coaches football at Alabama.

Hell, the governor lives right here in Montgomery and you'd be hard pressed to find an elementary age kid that knows his name, but they can damn sure tell you who Alabama & Auburn have as head coaches, who starts at QB and most can tick off the starting lineup for both teams.

Did it really take Cowherd saying this for it to become news?

Coach Bryant and Coach Stallings were also referred to as Coach.
Shows respect. What is your point?

And quoting Colin Cowherd?

You are the only fanbase that does it. He was simply refereed to as Saban here, just like every other program.

The important thing is that Cowherd doesn't know shite about leadership. His opinion is just like any other radio dumbass. I wouldn't feed that troll...

FIrst, There are some talking heads that might know a little but his guy, tomy knowledge has never set foot in the state.

2nd, the problem other coaches had at Bama was they WEREN'T in control. It was run by trustees, influential alums, etc and everybody said that was the problem. The good ole boys calling the shots. Now, we have a coach that has total control of football decisions, which by the way, is the only way to be successful ( ask John Fox, Jimmy Johnson, Steve Spurrier with the Skins how it is answering to people and not having control) and now all of a sudden its a problem.

Bottom line. IF we have issues, so be it. Let us worry about these things. We will consult you if we think you can be of help but we seem to be doing pretty good. Cowherd, LSU fans, Ghandi or the Pope shouldn't have any concern with what we do. We win, he calls the shots, we support him. Good enough.
I think most of you have your own set of problems to address anyway.

Cowherd is an entertainer. He is paid to entertain. I take it you're entertained by Cowherd today. He did his job. ESPN is proud. Sponsors are likewise proud.

Congrats... and moo or baa or whichever farm animal best describes you.
