Cowherd is so strange. One minute he is talking about how he believes in the free market, calling coaches CEO's and saying that coaches should make whatever they can make all while making some analogy to a little kid's lemonade stand or Google. The next he is saying stuff like this.

At least his hot takes are a little deeper than most.

boosters paying off his house

I don't think that's what happened. The boosters bought the house, yet let Saban and his family still live in it. When Saban leaves, they can sell the house for a profit.

I dont see why Bama fans cant just admit yall have a weird thing when it comes to coaches. Yall almost put them above the program itself. Yall had a lady who was arrested apologize to "Coach Saban". Not to her family, to COACH SABAN Look, we have our issues here that I would gladly admit too. For one, we have the most catostrophe syndrome fanbase in the country

As a fanbase. Not saying you personally, but admit as an overall fanbase the coach thing usually turns over the top. Just like as a fanbase, LSU is the biggest group of chicken littles in the country

Saban is the IRL college version of Bud Kilmer.

This is exactly what happened, but don't tell those who think Saban still owns it. It will only make their rants less meaningful.

No coach is above the program. It's just that we have been fortunate to have had some legendary coaches. Saban has a little cult of personality going but then so did Bryant...the great ones all do.....but I wouldn't want Saban to stick around longer if the situation became dysfucnctional and toxic enough that it damaged the program....see Penn State as a prime example.
