but you're undecided about sc?

It is hard to consider a team that gets swept at home a contender.

Winning one series does not a season make.

Ole Miss has looked terrible since winning the 13 inning game the last Sunday of the Arkansas series.

Hard to ignore Alabama's conference record so far, which is why I put them there.

Conference champions, and contenders to host/top 8 seeds

Well that shortens the list considerably.

Alabama is the rare team that, at this point, is in contention for the conference crowm, but isn't yet even on the national seed radar. Interesting case.

That's why the list is short

I just wonder I an SEC team will get peckered like UK did last season

Because the SEC has so many strong teams and the level of play is so high, a good SEC team usually does get fricked. The regional process does not do a good job of rewarding the depth of a conference. They just look at your finish and make a gut call.

Attendance of a regional also seems to have taken a back seat over the last 3 or so years as well as they try to "broaden" the game nation wide.

I don't know if there is a single Aggie out there (outside of TeleFax, maybe) that would have pinned the aggies to win the SECC for baseball this year after who we lost from last year's squad.

We are fighting to get into a regional, let alone host one this year.

I think we are definitely in the unknown list as of right now. The pitching and defense is solid as usual but hit by the injury bug. The bats are cold and abysmal, and if we can't find our stroke, then we will continue to be spotty. The aTm series showed signs of improvement in hitting, but still too early to tell IMHO.

I'm pretty confident Alabama isn't a contender.

Everyone needs to be cognizant than when the weather heats up, and the bats shake of some of the sluggishness, the conference race truly can turn. Baseball is a funny thing like that.

For sure, we definitely are no cold weather team. That being said this past weekend was a beautiful time for baseball.
