Dabo may have figured it out. Look at the correlation of defense compared to offense. When the offense was running the most sufficient the defense was lacking. Last year was the closest to balance between both. I'm sure you would agree that Gus is a perfectionist when it comes to his offense, right. Perfection comes from practice. Practicing against the best competition is that best way to achieve that. All I'm saying is Gus may have to relinquish some of his offensive perfection to field a proficient D. And I really have no idea of how Gus runs his practices, but just looking at his teams, he has great offenses and mediocre defenses. Can't all be on the DC's.

So our offense is the problem with the defense... . Ole Miss has a really good defense & they don't run any power I or two tight end sets. They try to beat you on the edge.

Y'all make it sound so simple even OleMiss can do it.....And as bad as AU fans hate Daboo you are even giving his team credit.

If it's so easy then what has been AU's problem for the last 6 yrs that you've been running this offense? Cycling through DC's every two years hasn't done much.

Can Auburn go ahead and hire him so the South Carolina fans will end their fantasies of getting him?

Yall are so stuck on Gus' offense being called HUNH that yall automatically assume we run so many plays it wears out our defense and that's all that determines how good a defense is. In fact Auburn's offense ran less and plays his second year and his defense went backwards. You can't blame that on offense.

Ellis Johnson is the only DC that didn't have Chizik meddling in his defenses.

Ok final question, and I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking this guy.....But was he any good at coaching those positions?

Yes. He coached guys like Fred Baxter (played 9 years in the NFL) and Andy Fuller (1st team All-SEC twice) in the early to mid-1990's.

There isn't much to coaching TE's, lets be honest. A ton of their work will be done with the receivers anyways. Special Teams is where he will be needed.

How many OC's has Bama had during Saban's time as HC?

That is a very good question.

So that is an average of changing the OC every two years? Seems like an awful lot of change.
