Colonel Reb was something to be proud of though.

Sure he was. I have a ton of Colonel Reb stuff because its an awesome logo. However, he is gone now and it is impossible to bring him back and I'm gonna choose to do things besides crying about it with my spare time.

Since we all know what school I'm from, I don't want to burn any bridges by getting too specific. I'll just say that the field itself is lucrative, but again, the courses in no way prepare me for a job in my field.

Is State growing Marijuana now too???

Though some majors do a good job of preparing students for careers, I would say some are horrible; and in nearly every case, if you cut the BS classes, the students could all graduate in half the time owing the government much less money.

No i completely understand this statement. I get where you are coming from it does seem like the school have lost site of educating the student and became concern only about the bottom line

I do other things too. One example would be signing my admission forms for Mississippi State.

I don't know about the students, but the school itself seems pretty ashamed. Ole Miss has been destroying their traditions out of fear of a negative image.

Rhetoric fed to you by rosebowl and message board morons at State. You might want to read something other than Genespage and SixPackSpeak.

If you think it's socially acceptable to wave a con fed flag, you're not worth my time. I'm not getting into a semantics discussion about the "real history" of the flag and how that's "all you are supporting". The fact is, 99% of the world sees it as racist. Perception is reality in this day and age. That's enough to sink an entire university if it's not prevented. I love OM more than the con fed flag. So frick that flag and people who fly it.

You replaced iconic Colonel Reb with the most generic mascot on earth.

CR was a great mascot and a loved icon for a long time. That time has past. It's a fact. I wish it were not so. I wish the rest of the country could see him like I do. However, that's not possible. If you want to have a seminar for 280 million people and explain the intricate details of CR's origins, meaning and context, go ahead.

For now, RBB is our mascot. I like him. My children love him. It's just a mascot. We aren't digging up con fed graves and tearing down the Lyceum. Stop acting like the world is caving in over a goddamned foam headed cartoon and a flag.

I doubt it's much better on campus now with the new dorms.

Ole Miss needs a parking garage. Bad.

When they build the new arena, they should work out some deal for a parking garage.

Ole Miss could also use a better shuttle system to get people across campus. Our campus may be too small for that though.

Still, most campuses have some sort of public transportation to move people quickly between their classes.

Never will happen ... it doesn't fit architecturally with the rest of the campus

If they can make a basketball arena look like this I'm sure they can figure out something for a parking garage.

After being on a much larger campus for two years now I tend to think the walks from place to place in Oxford are a breeze.

As far as the garage, they could put it on that lot behind Kincannon and Kinnard. Dig 3 floors down, one floor at the existing ground, and 3 on top. Wouldn't be that visible and it would accommodate a huge number of vehicles.

Go to Franklin, TN. You'll see how incorrect that idea is.

I honestly haven't had too much of a problem finding a spot this year. I think a lot of that is due to trailblazer like myself who skip class.

Touché ... you played me like a fiddle

But I think/thought I heard that they were planning a transportation center out where the water plant is on the other side of 6

Definitely easier than a lot of places, which is frankly why I think most Ole Miss students are whiny little bitches about the whole parking situation (even though it isn't perfect).

It's mostly the ticket nazi's. Although, I must say taking away the private law lot was a bitch move.

Thing is, at UF I'm never walking in a vacant area. If you park on the Old Taylor lot, its a hike and I can see why, girls especially, don't do it.
