By your logic, taking a WR #1 overall would be an advisable move. and let's face it, you don't need an elite CB if you have a DE who has already put the QB in the ground.

Watching Nick Fairley with Detroit and there's only so much the Dline can do without help from the secondary. Even a Dline with Fairley, Suh, Avril, and Van Bosch(sp).

I think teams need two solid corners and not just one good guy who teams don't throw towards and an average guy who subsequently gets abused. Milliner doesn't strike me as that shutdown corner but rather the guy that gets molested

I dont see Milliner as a #1 pick. He's a solid 6-10 type pick. However, Milliner is a much better CB than Kirkpatrick was in my opinion.

To me he's the second best CB to come out of the SEC behind PP7 since the BCS Era began. A tremendous prospect.

Prepare yourself for a barrage of ridicule from Auburn and LSU fans.

Meh, I couldn't care less. We all have different opinions, doesn't make a difference if we disagree on who is the best at running with a guy and occasionally knocking a ball down, catching it, or tackling a guy for sixty minutes

Claiborne was definitely better

I agree with this. But I don't think he's on PPs level. Or ever will be.

Better hands maybe, but I don't see him as better than Dee. I've got PP7 pretty high above Dee, then Mo fairly low below Dee. It isn't a knock to be considered third though when the two guys ahead of you are as good as PP7 and DeMarcus.

1. PP7

2a. Milliner
2b. Rogers
2c. Claiborne

3. Haden

Don't have Claiborne fairly below Dee. It goes:

PP

Dee
Claiborne.

Dee and Mo are actually very similarly CBs and very comparable IMO. Biggest knock against Dee is that he rarely was asked to press and backpedal at Alabama. In the nfl all you do is press and man to man. Mo was better at that then Dee is coming out, but after he gets comfortable doing it he should he fine. But, I don't see him being that much better than Mo, if better at all.

I kinda hope so, but as a Rookie it can be hard at times with teams picking on you all the time. They'll only pick on you more if Haden is the CB playing across from you.

By mid season though, I think Milliner/Haden would become an elite CB duo.

Milliner rarely ever made plays on the ball, 6 INT in 3 years, Claiborne had 11 in 2 years. Claiborne was also considered a shut down CB, Milliner had times where he would struggle, although it was rare. I cant remember Claiborne ever getting beat repeatedly in a game. Millner also got thrown at a bit more than Claiborne...QBs feared Claiborne very badly because not only was he shut down, he made a big plays all the time.

Milliner would definitely be behind PP& and Claiborne. Claiborne was just a better athlete, playmaker and shut down type of guy.

Wut.

He almost always pressed on Milliner Island. He is one of the best press corners to come out in years.

True, but it doesn't take long to catch on to.

A team picking in the Top 10 doesn't have time to teach basic technique

The thing is we played a lot with a Safety blitzing and then the other over the top of Belue. Usually it was Lester, and teams would rather risk throwing one on one against an elite CB than throwing into double coverage against a guy who you probably won't catch if he picks it off and a known ball hawk in Lester. Milliner didn't have great hands, so he didn't have a lot of picks, but he broke up a lot of passes instead, which is a sing of good ball skills. When Dee does pick it off he has great speed and vision to make a big return.

It's all different opinions. Objectively, I think Milliner is better than Mo coming out, but that isn't a knock on Mo.

Back pedaling is the most important thing for a CB. Pretty important that he hasn't done that yet. Might not take long to learn it, but will take a while to get comfortable doing it.

Most of the time I saw him play he was lined up 5-7 yards off the guy with his hips turned in facing the CB and would turn and run. Didn't see him pressing and back pedaling that much.

By objectively, I think Mo was better because he back pedaled in college while Dee didn't. Bt, I think they are very retry similar and comparable.
