According to Andrew Gribble with al.com, Kansas City's recent acquisition of Alex Smith and their decision to franchise tag LT Brendan Allen opens the door for Milliner at #1
quote:

"Milliner now has shot at being first CB ever taken No. 1 overall," NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt wrote on his Twitter account. "Not saying it will happen, but pieces falling into place."

Matt Miller, a longtime NFL Draft analyst, wrote that he's now pegging Milliner to land with the Chiefs -- if they keep the pick.

"For the record: I wouldn't draft Milliner No. 1 overall, but if KC doesn't go OL, he's the next best thing," Miller wrote on his Twitter account.

This is just a case of a beat writer going full homer right?

Why would it upset you so much? I doubt it happens, but what's the big deal if it does?

He was terrible against Texas A&M. Wouldn't draft him in the first three rounds...

Why would anybody take a corner at #1?

Most Certainly. you don't pay a rookie CB that much money... ever.

If KC is in that kind of shape then you trade down and collect assets

It's Kansas City. They've been in the can since Montana retired.

He could never, ever even closely live up to that draft spot. He's a 10-15 guy IMO, but being the #1 CB on the board will go 6-10.

Milliner was always a very good, but not shut down type corner. He would struggle against a good deal of team's #1 WRs in the league, but he could be awesome as a starter against #2's IMO. Make a few pro bowls too.

That makes the most sense as I don't think there is enough separation between Milliner and the other CB's to make him a Top 10 pick

Would be hilarious. He's a good CB but I was not overly impressed with him when I watched him play

KC has a good young team and 6 players I heard made the pro bowl.. They need a competent coach and a competent QB and they should be able to compete in the AFC west.

Passing league. The first pick should be used to help yours or hurt the opponent's.

The same guy who said Julio is better than Calvin Johnson. What a clown.

I'm not agreeing with him, but Julio was targeted less than Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez last season, if he was far and away the most targeted player on his team like Calvin was, his stats would've been scary. Not Calvin scary, but still scary nonetheless.
