i don't think SEC could get any NC schools and VA schools in the ACC, G Tech, or Clemson.

How about asking Tenn., Vandy, & Ky. that...esp. since you want to end the Tn./Vandy in-state game, but NOT the Ala./Aub. in-state game.

Let's see when their GOR is over. I wouldn't be surprised if some are already waiting on that date to bolt to the SEC.

It keeps all big rivalries and rejuvenates one. I can't take you seriously if you think keeping the UT/Vandy is better than rejuvenating the AU/UF series

We only 'come off as scared' with people that are so new to the SEC that they don't understand our traditional rivals are Florida and Tennessee.

I want to play them again. I don't care about playing Texas A&M and freaking Arkansas.

No they aren't.

A 35 year consecutive series where they'd only play you in Birmingham for most of it?

i think there would be a backlash from alumni of ACC schools if the historical ACC programs leave for other conferences. and these schools arent going to leave a conference associated with academics to go to SEC.

YOU admitted you're doing "what's best for Auburn" by ending rivalries for 3 other schools....& I'M the 1 not to be taken seriously?

& yes, I think an in-state rivalry trumps a Fl./Aub. game. Why not dump the IB & play Fl.?

Hell, we've already got a Clemson...only without the lake.

I'm not new to the SEC, and Auburn fans are coming off scared to me.

And as far as this AU-UT thing, it looks like Auburn has played Tennessee only like 2-3 more games than they've played against LSU.

If competitive balance is the main issue, it would probably mean realignment every so often as the powers do shift.

I think preserving rivalries and geography should be a priority before balance.

Auburn fans are just trying too hard to make every team in the east their "historic rivals". UGA and UF? Okay, however, using the same criteria, Alabama would have just as much justification to go the east as Auburn. "But, but, Tennessee, Georgia and Vandy are our traditional rivals..."

I think Auburn fans are scared of Arkansas evening up the series on them.

And, after all, where would Auburn be without their historic rivalry with State (89 games and counting - #2 all-time for Auburn)?

Ending two rivalries that are pretty meaningless to add one with meaning. Vandy barely has fans and UK is a basketball school.

Take a fan of a random school not in the SEC. Which are they more likely to watch?

Also I didn't say I was doing what's best for Auburn necessarily. I said doing this would be best for the conference and just so happens that it's also best for Auburn

Because that game has ratings. Compare it to the ratings of the UT/Vandy game
