For the childen among us who were not around for any of the 25 years that the Atlanta Braves played in the NL West, for some reason this is a big deal.

The Colts are in the AFC South. The Cowboys have been in the NFC East for decades. No one gives a crap about geographic consistency

I would think LSU would be the only one with the potential problem. They'd have to end the UF series but it doesn't seem like a huge deal to many LSU fans

Jesus fricking Christ. Whenever I see this shite:

West:
LSU
A&M
OU
OSU
Arkansas
Ole Miss
MSU
Mizzou

I wonder why people want to kick LSU out of the SEC. Most LSU fans over the age of 25 actually enjoy watching LSU play UF, UGA and UT. Hell, LSU has played Alabama just as many times as Auburn has.

I don't want to see a founding member of the SEC get jacked into some sort of inbred version of the SWC/Big8.

So Auburn's traditional rivals are Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Vandy, Tennessee, etc..., maybe it's time Auburn fans expanded their horizons and quit playing the same goddam teams every year.

Hell, for 36 years the Falcons were in the same division as Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Then leave it like it is.

The point of doing it is to rejuvenate some old rivalries while maintaining current ones and keeping things the same competitively

Irrelevant to the discussion of why that would be the best division set up

You proposed ending the LSU - Alabama series. At 80 games, that's not exactly maintaining current rivalries.

My initial one (which I believe is the one he's talking about) where we're reordering the current SEC teams instead of having to include OU and OSU in the reordering did not end the LSU/Bama series. Bama would still be in the West.

The point of reordering the divisions in my other scenario was because you have to. You don't have a choice. You can't add OU and OSU and put one in the East and one in the West. At that point, teams will have to concede some rivalries. It just simply has to happen.

Layout the discussion for why it's not and propose your divisions. That's the point of discussions like this. I'm open to a better idea.

I think the divisions I laid out in both scenarios is the best situation for all involved.

None of that shite "has to happen".

What has to happen is Auburn fans coming to grips with the idea that the UF and UT rivalries are dead, and being thankful that the UGA and Bama rivalries are not.

I'm still not sure WHY we would add OU and OSU.

If they're a package deal, there's a good chance we wouldn't even bother. No addition to the TV footprint.

UNC, VA Tech, UVA - all more likely.
