Ok so what do you propose we do if we added OU and OSU? I like the pod system but I think we're solely talking about two divisions in this thread

My point wasn't that you have to reorder them in that way, my point was that you would pretty much have to reorder the divisions in some way.

I'm still not sure WHY we would add OU and OSU.

If they're a package deal, there's a good chance we wouldn't even bother. No addition to the TV footprint.

Someone else came up with that scenario, I just went with it.

Not fricking add OU or OSU.

...And keep Auburn in the West and Mizzou in the East. Auburn fans seem to be the only ones bitching about it. Y'all come off as scared.

Just relax and try to enjoy it, that way it won't hurt as much.

Auburn has just as much history with State, LSU and Bama as it does with Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. You still get your most played rivalry every year in Georgia. Auburn is in the West, get over it.

Average number of Auburn matchups with East teams: 49

Average number of Auburn matchups with West teams: 48.3

This whole Texas A&M + Missouri thing was GREAT for our conference (I am glad to have them, honestly), but we (Auburn) have made too many sacrifices along the way since the 1992 expansion (Florida, Tennessee, Georgia Tech).

Nobody forced you to quit playing GT. Your administration would prefer to play Jax St and Alabama A&M

The point of reordering the divisions in my other scenario was because you have to. You don't have a choice. You can't add OU and OSU and put one in the East and one in the West. At that point, teams will have to concede some rivalries. It just simply has to happen.

You're basing that logic of 2 western teams in.....but how about 2 EASTERN teams?

Are you fricking dense? Someone had the idea of adding them. I do not want add them. I was just playing along with that idea. So the scenario was IF OU and OSU were added (meaning that's given in this scenario) what would you do with the divisions? This was proposed by an Arkansas fan I think and has nothing to do with Auburn.

I said all we need to do is switch Auburn and UT. This changes absolutely nothing for LSU (which seems to be the only thing you consider).

Youre just being an idiot that's incapable of understanding a conversation.

Depends on which two teams. Give me two teams to add and I'll give you what the ideal divisions would look like.

Why does it matter which 2 teams? You add them, Mizz. flips to the West & the newbies are in the East with both groups @ 8 (if no pods).

Because competitive balance is a big factor in all this.

No, I'm just sick of seeing conference re-alignment threads, especially when they effectively kick LSU out of the SEC.

I'm not an idiot, I just don't feel compelled to "play along" with idiocy.

LSU (which seems to be the only thing you consider).

I merely objected strongly to the idea of putting LSU in a division with Arkansas, A&M, Mizzou, Oklahoma, Okie State and the Mississippi scrubs. I'm CERTAIN that if the same fate were suggested for Auburn, you would object strongly, hell, you're objecting to being in a division with mostly SEC founders and your most hated rival, imagine if it were constantly suggested to throw Auburn into a division with FSU, NC State, Clemson, GIT, USCe, Vandy and KY. We'd hear you howl clear over here.

Ironically it's YOU who seems to be only concerned with Auburn.

So, if (for example) it's VT & NCST...you gonna put them in the West?

& competitive balanced on what? 2 Eastern teams flips Mizz. west & balances geography.

I think 16 will create pods for easier scheduling.

So you're arguing with me who didn't start a realignment thread?

I'm not an idiot, I just don't feel compelled to "play along" with idiocy.

So again, why are you arguing with me? If you don't like the idea of OU and OSU, how about going after the guy who proposed that in the first place. Like I said, I was just playing along.

If it made the most sense for the conference as a whole no I wouldn't like it but I'd probably be fine with it.

You've yet to give me a reason why my initial realignment was a bad idea for anyone in the conference. You accuse me of thinking the exact thing you're thinking (even though I've typed no such thing) and then you somehow come up with the idea that I'm only concerned about Auburn and you're not only concerned with LSU. Tell me how that makes sense.

I'm definitely for pods at 16.

Your proposal is:
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Mizzou
A&M
Arkansas
MSU
OM

UF
UGA
UT
SCAR
Vandy
UK
VT
NCST

I guess that's alright. Seems pretty balanced. The East is almost a little too weak though

Because, if I'm not mistaken, you were the one who posted this:

LSU
OK
Okie Lite
Mizzou
Arky
A&M
Miss Scrubs

That's what I responded to.

Like I said, I was just playing along.

That's another reason I responded to you. In the future, just don't.

Maybe I'm mistaking you for some other Aubie, but aren't you one of the ones proposing moving Auburn to the east? Why not just be fine with the way shite is now? After all, it's best for the conference.

But I swear, every time going forward I see someone propose this shite again:
LSU
OK
Okie Lite
Mizzou
Arky
A&M
Miss Scrubs

(and it pops up a LOT) I'm going with the throw said team into a division with FSU, NC State, Clemson, GIT, USCe, Vandy and KY and see how they respond.

So forgive me for responding so vehemently to throwing LSU out of the conference, but I bet any fan of a founding member would respond likewise.

It's not the best for all involved. It's the best for Auburn, and more specifically you because you don't want to make 1 long road trip a year.

I like them as they are. All rivalries are intact. We have the worst travel, but it won't be much better in the West and our travel is going to suck for the most part.

Even years we only have one long trip. Odd years it's two, maybe 3 depending on our west draw. Wouldn't be much different, could be worse depending on our new permanent partner if we headed West.

We just switched conferences 4 years ago, and I don't want to switch divisions already again.

Your reading comprehension skills and inability to follow along may be the cause of your financial state. YOU are complaining about long distance travel. You're not complaining about AU having to travel.

Thanks for your interest in our esteemed university. Do try and get your facts from places other than tRant, though. May want to take a look at most valuable football teams and athletics programs nationally. Auburn is way down the list, unfortunately.

I'm not wasting 5 hours driving to the boonies to see StarkVegas or go to an away game in Oxford where last call is at 12.

I want to play historically good programs, waste less time traveling and be in quality college towns
