Who cares if the athletes don't mind. It's everyone's business if their taxes are being used to pay for nonexistent classes.

And it cheapens the degrees for other people that actually had to work for theirs.

I'm shocked that football players are herded toward "easy" degree programs.

Considering the Communications program at UA is nationally recognized, that would be a good thing wouldn't it?

Have you ever seen some of those Athletes with that major try to communicate ? I am sure there are successful graduates in that program, just have not heard of any.

Well, in all honesty, I think it cheapens any degree when major programs let kids on campus that have zero business attending classes at a university.

All football players have access to academic support that most students don't. By that logic, any football player can cheapen any degree.

That's not to say they're all skating by. But if a kid has no interest in going I college other than playing a sport (Cardale Jones, for example) then I could care less if he picks the easiest degree and C's his way to graduation day.

Meh, undergrad degrees have been "cheapened" for quite some time, and athletics has little to do with that.

We know Aubie fans don't care about any of the controversies that constantly surround their program.

They only care about these stories when it's their big brother across the state or another SEC rival.

Not sure what this has to do with the subject but appreciate your interest in the program.

Do you think a thread about auburn where the most auburn-centric bama posters flock is really the best place for this comment.

Obligatory pre-season Auburn hit piece covering the non-scandal. It won't be a shocker when the tool who wrote this is connected with UAT or UGA.

I agree with that. And it's not just athletics. Our universities are more about buying a piece of paper than getting an education. But athletics bring in the big bucks.

How is this even a story? You could write about an easy major that a lot of athletes take at any college at any level that's serious about athletics.
