With the new rules.....you won't have many trash teams. We'll at least have a big non conference game every year. And we had 60k+ against SEMO last year.

Other than the last two years of Nutt's team, I can't remember a game where we only had 40k, even a bad one.

And for one thing, ticket prices need to go down not up. High ticket prices is a big cause of the downward trend in attendance figures. Just a few years ago, tickets were about $25 - $30 per seat. Now they are upwards of $75 per seat. What was once affordable to the masses is no longer affordable (especially during a terrible economy where food prices and fuel have also skyrocketed).

The economy isn't nearly as terrible as everyone says it is... Mississippi's economy, however, is. The median income in Mississippi is the same as it was 15 years ago.

We just differ in opinions. I don't really have the same view. I don't really care to keep up with the Jones if you will. We aren't selling out games with nowhere to put people. I'd rather increase revenue and bowl in the stadium with revenue streams in mind, not just adding seats to have a bigger number. Once the demand is there add on.

I don't know what planet you are on but it's not Earth.

Aside from your opinion, the prices of everything is higher than it was just a few years ago. I make good money but the economy has hurt me. I have less free money to spend on likes because they go to the family's needs. The average ticket price to a college football game is 100 percent more than it was 10 years ago and attendance figures are down nationwide because of this and the fact that you can stay at home and watch it on HD.

That kinda ties in to my point too. Why would we bowl it in and add 10-15k more seats when attendance is down nationwide?

I don't think it's so much the economy is down. yes...that plays a role in it. But I think attendance has been dropping for the last decade because of how easy it is to watch at home. You can get as shite faced as you want...leave the living room at halftime to go make you another drink/plate...and come back before 2nd half kickoff.

The SECNetwork is an amazing entity....but this could drop attendance at mid-tier schools even more. Hopefully we'll have enough on-field success to help combat that issue.

Yeah, that's called inflation. There was a time when a nickel would get you a pack of gum.

Generally speaking, wages rise along with inflation.

You might view this guy as a leftist, but he explains inflation pretty well in layman's terms.

before the recent spikes in ticket prices, our tickets were the cheapest in the SEC for years. Pretty good reason for that because we've been bad for a few decades.

I'm all for keeping up with competition....but I'm also big on getting a good return on investment. If I'm paying big bucks for tickets...I expect the administration to at least give a decent effort into what they're doing. That's, unfortunately, only been done the past few years.

I'm really curious as to why they don't fix the other endzone. If that was bowled in, and bricked up, it would look some much nicer. As of now, it looks like grandstands at an old high school stadium. I really hope there are plans to fix that in the future. The endzone they propose to fix now is the best looking part of VHS.

Yes they are going to bowl it in but it's still not what everyone wants so...

Their plans are not very impressive to say the least.

For those still butt hurt we aren't doing Boone's plan, we still haven't sold out of season tickets and it's two weeks away from the start of the season. We will sell out and are ahead of where we were this time last year when we sold out, but wake up people. We have state, bama, auburn, and UT at home with a highly anticipated season approaching and are selling single game tickets. Do you fricks really think spending twice as much to add twice as many seats is a good idea? Especially when we are adding the same amount of premium seating.

This was my point as well. I don't want a 75k seat stadium just to say we got it. I'd rather do it in phases. Continue winning. Build the program and make smart financial moves.

Oklahoma St stadium only holds 60k.
Virgina Tech 66k
West Virgina 60k
Louisville 55k

We just don't need more seats. I'd just like to see the stadium look like it was all built at one time.

I made this point earlier, but I think Stanford does a really good job at making a 50k stadium look awesome. I'm sure they can bowl in the rest of Vaught and make it look really good without adding way more seats; but have the possibility of adding more seamlessly if needed.

This is a pretty stadium

I know it wouldn't be ideal for later expansion....but if Ole Miss did some similar to Raymond James Stadium in that NEZ, it would look good. Make it to where it was a huge outdoor concourse. With bathrooms, restaurants, shops overlooking the stadium. Put the Vaught statue up there overlooking the stadium. Add a bunch of picnic type benches or tables for sitting. I have it pictures in my mind. Wish I could explain it better.
