That's Temple of the Dog, not Audioslave.

Cornell's voice is amazing. I enjoy hearing him cover other songs. He knows how to change things up

I rest my case. They were pop and just more fluff for the radio stations.

I'm not sure how I feel about this statement. I think a lot of people who like grunge haven't explored much beyond the popular bands and the bands that were formed after the popular bands rose to prominence. Grunge music falls under a wide umbrella (Alice in Chains sounds nothing like Pearl Jam, who sound nothing like Nirvana. Hell, I really classify AiC as more of a metal band from Seattle), and lot of actual grunge music is absolutely unfit for the radio. Listening to Mudhoney, Green River, and Tad gives you a better example of the grunge sound, in my opinion.

But I think you can also see it as Cobain's knack for songwriting took a genre that was mostly unconsumable and made it fit for the masses, while still retaining a large part of what made it unique. I personally think that's something to be celebrated and not described as "fluff".

Now Foo Fighters. THAT'S fluff. They're the most bland, no salt added rock band I've ever heard.

Cornell's voice was actually utter shite live in Audioslave. He was drinking and smoking heavily at the time. I think he even went to rehab in '02 or '03. I think he started taking better care of himself and maybe even seeing a voice coach after Audioslave broke up, because the live performances of Audioslave and new Soundgarden are night and day.

Not my favorite Soundgarden song, but it's one of his more impressive vocal pieces I think. Especially in this video knowing it had been fully a decade since he could hit those notes.

I saw him live that same year at Lollpalooza, and his voice was just as good, so I know that video is legit. Unfortunately, the show still kind of sucked, which I expected going in. Soundgarden had been notorious back in the day for inconsistent and lackluster shows.

But they did a killer job with the setlist.

The worst show I've ever gone to was the Goo Goo Dolls. John Rzeznik was wasted and couldn't remember lyrics or anything. It was awful

Back in the early 90s I went to a guns n roses concert that was miserable too

So it was a Goo Goo Dolls concert without any shitty Goo Goo Dolls lyrics? Sounds like a moderately decent time to me.

Edit for your edit: Was it bad because Rose never showed up, or bad because it was just a bad show?

Rose was a prick like always, but the show was at the Birmingham Horsetrack. It was June or July so it was hotttt and the field was nothing but mud. It was just bad all of the way around. Rose acted like an arse and then the crowd got mad and someone hit him with mud. He went nuts and then stormed off the stage

Here is a write up about it. It's long but tells the story

The worst show I went to was at Riverport Amphitheater, St Louis

Guns and Roses

Axyl flipped out walked off stage he was bitching about a picture or a camera

Best show I've seen was Janet Jackson (Velvet Rope) or U2 Rattle and Hum

He got sued for it as it caused a riot basically. I think that's why he wears a Cardinals hat in one of the videos.

I'd loved to have seen The Crue in concert they look like they throw a show out there.

I saw Motley Crue in 99 maybe. It was great, but Tommy Lee wasn't with them. They had a woman drummer at the time I believe. It might have been in 2000. I can't remember

Cobain wasn't gay if that's what you're referring to with the thread title. Said he'd like to be gay just to piss people off but that was the extent of it

I love how the hipster crowd had adopted this "it's cool to hate on Kurt" bullshite. You know what Cobain's greatest contribution was? His humility. He recognized the luck of Nirvana's being adopted by the mainstream and used that platform to promote other lesser-known groups like the Meat Puppets, The Frogs, and others.

Get over yourself.
