I was actually living in MS when they had the last vote iirc

I don't care for it, but then again I'm not a Mississipian. It is what it is, you know?

It was pretty much along racial lines. MS is something like 60% white, so that sounds right.

Errr - no. Exit polling found only about 70% of blacks voted against, so not exactly purely down racial lines.

Exactly. People outside the state should not care. I agree that we should change it, if we can find a good replacement.

We should also legalize cannabis, but that is another story.

Incorrect. People outside the state can and will pass judgment on y'all's decision to use that flag to represent y'all, like it or not.

I'm just saying the decision to actually change it or not should be left up to Mississipians. For better or for worse.

I concur.

I've also never smoked the stuff or any other stuff in my life

We know that. But what he is saying is they shouldn't care. It's none of their business.

I saw that and it flew over the Republic of West Florida until the USA annexed the territory. It doesn't say if you kept it or just didn't fly one at all between 1817-1861...

^^^^^^. This. The Bonnie Blue was The Republic of West Florida. Nothing to do with the confederacy.

Eh I disagree.

We're countrymen. Therefore again I must disagree.

Same for me brother. I have nothing against it, but I just have not found an occasion to smoke. I would like to try it before I die though.

I think we should adopt something similar to South Park:

Yes. We are countrymen. And the US flag is the flag that unites us all. That being said, each individual state is responsible for their own flag. It's nobody else's business.

That would not go over well at all.

I've just never been curious about smoking enough to try it. Don't even have a strong moral reason. Just doesn't move the needle for me one way or the other.

I'm neither repulsed nor intrigued by the practice.

Wasn't that South Park episode based on the vote to change Mississippi's flag?

I just assumed you were a pothead with how laid back you are until I saw you state otherwise.

Granted. Not debating that.

I agree.

However, each state must also be cognizant of the way they choose to represent themselves to outsiders.

That is why others can and will care, despite y'all's druthers on the matter.

I don't think Uncle Sam would approve of any...dabbling on my part.

Yeah, but you would make a great pothead. You just don't know it yet.

I'm really intrigued with it and the use of hallucinogens.

None of that hard stuff though, i.e. heroin and crack.
