an answer to this ^^^ ?
If Mississippi decides to change it, wouldn't that fall right in line with "states rights, freedom and all that other great shite" you're talking about?
If it was residents of Mississippi calling for change, then you are correct, but since it's a Californian law firm I stand by my statement.

Arkansas state flag: Just confederate enough to be winky, but not confederate enough to be offensive (to most). Diamonds & shite.

Um no. There's 20 stars on that flag. You think Mississippi only has 20 counties? Those would be some Nevada sized counties.
There's 20 stars because MS was the 20th state admitted to the union.
As far as how I feel about the flag, in my youth I took a lot of pride in southern heritage and whatnot and the last vote I would have voted to keep it. But now I probably just wouldn't vote. I keep some confederate memorabilia in my house, but I would never display any of it in public.

There are plenty of Mississippians who want it changed, FWIW.

If there are enough Mississippians who want it changed, they need to be low key for a while until they are absolutely certain they can get to vote to pass at the time. If they tried to stir up a bunch of shite right now and the vote didn't pass then we would look like fools on the national spotlight. Just let it lay low and simmer for a while until they are certain, because I honestly don't think it would pass right now.

How close was the vote last time?
Posted on 6/18/14 at 1:41 pm to Rebelgator
Not close at all. Somewhere in the 60s percentile for it iirc

65% favored keeping it.

Damn.
That won't be changing anytime soon.

Leave it to California Liberal retards to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. They should worry more about their own state which is sinking faster than the titanic on the account multiple towns are on the verge of bankrupcy, among other things. Classic California. *shakes head*
I've never had a problem with the flag or anything else supporting southern hertiage and history.

Would be even more lopsided now with voter ID in place.

I've never understood why the idea of voter ID is racist but you just did it.

It was pretty much along racial lines. MS is something like 60% white, so that sounds right.
