I agree, that was my issue. I don't have a problem moving these guys but package some up and go get a difference maker.
Miss hasn't been much better, if at all, than Reynolds this year.

Mo got raped. Moss is Reynolds Part Deaux. Exchanging a bat that hits a HR about every 28 AB's for one that hits a HR about every 23 AB's. Kaminsky IMO was one of the top 3 or 4 pitching prospects we had. I have no problem trading him but you can get a whole helluva lot more than Brandon Frickin' Moss.
Mo has to play off the Holliday injury as just a minor set back. I think he's only on the 15 day DL for now and Mo has to play it off as if he'll be back at that point. He may end up out longer but by the time that news comes out, the trade deadline is long gone.

What a horrible trade.
If Reynolds had Moss's plate appearances they'd have about the same HR production.
We've let go a ton of talent in the past year, and we may have zero to show for it come spring training next year.
Miller and Jenkins for a player in his walk year.. so insane.
Adams, Miller, (prospects like Jenkins and Kaminsky) could have been packaged to get us an extremely highly thought of young position player at a position of need.
Mo is basically Mike Alden. Limp, politicianesque word crafter.
What a joke.

FSN Midwest pregame says Mozeliak was trying to trade for Moss before Holliday injury.

Mo with the bow tie tonight.
Repeated shots of him starring at the cell phone.
Dramatic TV.

No matter, it still would be a horrible deal. Whether he was hurt or not.

First post...ever. Followed this page for a while, just been reading along.
I wouldn't say Mo got "raped" here. Everyone thought the Lackey deal was an absolute travesty last year, and look how well that's worked out for us. He's been our most consistent guy this year, with absolutely no run support. I don't like this new trade, especially with our #3 prospect involved, and received very little in return. Mo's proved us all wrong at times, so I'm going to sit and let it play out.
As for the Heyward trade, and it being insane? We just got a $1 billion TV deal, where do you think that money is going to go? Miller was a punk in the clubhouse, always has been, and JHey getting $120 mil like he'll probably ask won't be so far fetched anymore. Just my 2 cents....Go Cards!

Lackey was an established guy, with postseason experience.
Kelly and Craig were fine with me.
Craig was obviously done and Kelly will never have the control needed to make it at this level.
Brandon Moss is an Oakland cast off. He brings zero to the table.
Like I said earlier, if the rest of the lineup starts hitting again, this won't matter. If they continue to suck, this team will be playing the Cubs in the play-in game.
Moss will have zero input on either outcome, and chances are he won't even be on the postseason roster.
Welcome to the board Hit and Run.

Huge win tonight.
They showed their meddle.
CMart showed some fire even after he pitched like a rookie.
Balls out.
I like it.
Count me in if this is the fire we get for the rest of the season.

What a wild game that was.Good to see Carpenter to break out of his funk.Seigrist will get some much needed reps throwing the ball to the bases tomorrow.Holliday injury not as serious as previous injury.Grade 2 strain.

Somebody else said he was raped.
Lackey deal is irrelevant here.

Miller should have been traded, like he was, but we should have gotten more in return than a player in his walk year, that's what's insane. We should have been able to get a young, cost controlled position player. Not a free agent to be.
A lot of teams are getting mega tv deals. It just bumps the scales up. It's all relative. We'll continue our trend of gradually increasing the team salary.
That doesn't mean it makes sense to trade young-cheap pitching, which is the most coveted asset in baseball, for a free agent to be. And it doesn't mean it makes sense to give 18-22 million a year to a guy that isn't going to hit 3 or 4 in your lineup, ever.

I was the one that said he got raped and I still do. I hope I'm proven wrong (like Lackey as was pointed out) but that's my initial reaction. I think DeWitt just has to tell Mo that he can't field any more calls from the Indians.
Not that Ramsey was much, but Masterson was a complete non-factor.
Now we gave up a kid with a ton of upside for another Reynolds in the lineup. I don't see this team doing anything in post season if both are on the roster. Just gave up way too much for so little. What I really don't like about it is that any other deals at this point are near impossible without leaving us bare in the minor leagues.

Another trade for a reliever with an ERA near 6.00.

Love Molina, but a #4 hitter?
Reynolds
Wong
Pham
Moss
How in the hell do you win with that in your lineup? Dunno but they keep on doing it!!!

Well Wong is just in a funk, the other 3 just suck
The Moss trade looks worse every game

I only included Wong because that was the actual bottom of the lineup and that lineup, even with Wong in it, should never win games, much less be one of, if not THE best team in MLB. Even with the outstanding pitching we've been getting.

Just think how dangerous this team could be if Mo actually made a real trade for some real offense.
Apparently I went to the game on "bobble head night" at the ballpark and the Cleveland GM went on "first round pitcher" night.

Because the rotation has the best ERA of any team in decades.May not be tortured watching Moss play anymore if Adams keeps progressing in his rehab (granted he wasn't that good either).I like that Matheny is using the bullpen better ever since Cishek and Broxton trade.

Piscotty with a 4 hit day.
He might be the real deal. Great approach at the plate, quiet swing, very athletic, seems like he knows the game inside and out.
He's way more seasoned than Grichuk, and drives the shite out of the ball like Grich does.
I was at the game here in San Diego last Sunday, saw his two bomb game, his bat has "the sound".
Very excited.

Piscotty is the real deal.
Which adds to the insanity of the Heyward acquistion. We threw away two big trading chips in Miller and Jenkins for a one year rental. So stupid.
Keith Herndandez or whoever the guy was who blew up on the Cardinals about changing Piscotty's swing was dead on. The guy is a great gap power hitter who will hit for a high average and rake in doubles.
It was wrong of the Cardinals to ask him to change his swing to a more true home run hitting stroke because the organization is lacking home run hitters.
Piscotty was ready at the start of this season. He's done well in the Arizona Fall League, he did very well at AAA last year -- on top of it all, he's very smart, he's a true ballplayer, he's sound and mature.
There was every reason in the world to think he'd come up to the majors and do well.
Shame on the Cardinals for not seeing the obvious sooner.
