Not lost yet, Matheny can be unconventional.Lyons pitched well late in season.Says a lot when Matheny trusts him more than Lynn.

Good God. Losing in the playoffs is fine, but not to the worst franchise in baseball history. Frick.

Cards lineup moving forward
C : Molina
1B: Piscotty
2B: Wong
3B: Carpenter
SS: Peralta
LF: Holliday
CF: Pham
RF: Grichuk

Bench: Garcia, Cruz, Moss, ?, ?

SP: Waino, Martinez, Wacha, Garcia, Gonzalez/Lyons/Lynn
RP: Rosenthal, Walden, Siegrist, Maness, ?, ?, ?

Some question marks. I think we should resign Heyward but I just don't know if they will fork over that cash.

Can Grichuk be an everyday CF? I'm not enough of a baseball need to know.

I hope we can resign Heyward.
Good pieces there.

I think if you resign Heyward he plays RF. I think Grichuk/Pham/Jay can work in CF. Honestly I'm tired of Jay and think we have better options, but as long as he is signed he will play.

I also think you will see Holliday get a lot of days off next year, so Grichuk playing RF is a definite possibility.

I honestly think the Cards might let Heyward walk and just play Grichuk/Piscotty in the OF. The organization seems to think Adams can be the 1B when healthy. I'm not a fan but the front office is.

So that leaves you with a lot of money to spend on a SP maybe and a lot of bullpen help. The bullpen HAS to upgrade the left side or we will see a repeat of what happened versus the Cubs. LH trashing our LHP.

Grichuk can most definitely be a CF. He's a natural in RF though.

I believe he's injury prone though. Sounds dumb, but it's a thing.

Thoughts on Wong?

With the way he finished I'm half of the thought of moving carp back over and spending $$$ on a big hitting 3b though I don't even know who's available

I would rather not give up on him.But if the Rays would move Longoria I would be open to it.
