Then USC shouldn't have agreed to the BCS in 98 and again in 05.
The president's opinion on cfb is no better than ours.

Like they had a choice?
Yes, USC agreed to a 'system' where you can be ranked #1 in BOTH polls and not even have a shot at the title.
You BCS defenders need help.

They weren't forced.

Guess they should've have lost to 8-5 Cal?

It's called stating facts.

1. They had no choice.
2. USC's one loss in 2003 was far better than LSU's loss (2 TDs to Ron Zook Florida) or Oklahoma's loss (4 TDs).
3. The fact is that USC won a national title in 2003.

You can link me to where I said they didn't?

But didn't you hear? Apparently, Roy Kramer literally held a gun to the heads of all the other ADs and presidents and commissioners and MADE them agree to it. Multiple times.

For the record, I don't have a problem with any of Alabama's BCS titles except maybe 2011. But Bama was obviously better than L5U.
It does seem absurd now that Oklahoma got in 4 times when USC was better in 2003 and 2008.

I would take Carroll over Saban.

It is impossible to take Saban in this argument. Equal college success while Pete blows the doors off Saban in the NFL
You really think that comparing one national title to four national titles is equal success? Wow

Somebody explain to me what makes Pete Carroll a better college coach than Barry Switzer.

They won 2 national championships and should have beat Texas, but that's for another day.

Haha just being honest. They were the best team for 3 years in a row. Still can't believe they lost to Texas.

Why do people bring up MNCs with Saban? No coach in history has gotten to play for a MNC after every 1 loss season.
-Carroll had 2 1 loss seasons didn't get to play for the championship either time
-Bowden has like 6 or 7 1 loss seasons and only got to play for the championship 3x
Getting the opportunity to play for a championship after 1 loss seasons is really luck/favoritism. Nothing to do with coaching

So he got to play for a MNC in 2008 and 2013? I did not know that.

Amari Cooper > Reggie Bush
No.
Not in college, not in the NFL.
Uh ... Cooper had a 1,000 yard receiving season as a rookie. And he did that with a shite team called the Oakland Raiders. By comparison, Reggie Bush had like 650 yards TOTAL in his first year, WITH A PLAYOFF TEAM.
Cooper's rookie season was a LOT better than Bush's. That's a fact. So far, you're wrong.

Actually, LSU had the best team in the country featuring a dominant defense that shut down every team they played.
USC had a bunch of "star power" -- guys who got a lot of attention in CFB then didn't do shite in the NFL because they were overrated. LSU, meanwhile, was fricking loaded with actual talent that nobody recognized at the time.
LSU 2003 >>> USC 2003, easily.

He isn't.
And while USC's run from 2003-2008 was spectacular, it mustn't be oversold. In that six year span they won a grand total of....one BCS national title. One. They were a dominant force during that time but to call them a dynasty? That's stretching it. The media, especially Colin Cowherd, overplays Carroll's accomplishments at USC on a consistent basis.
