No, not as much as Alabama.
Auburn fans hate Alabama and want Alabama to lose so much that it often consumes them. Put it this way, Auburn fans enjoy watching Alabama lose far more than Alabama fans enjoy watching Auburn lose.
However, when times are good for Auburn... and let's be honest, they've had their success at times... I don't sense the need from Auburn fans of making sure every fan of an opposing team heap praise on them. When Alabama is winning, the average bama fan is keeping a tally of who is heaping praise and who is not. They get ruffled pretty quick if anyone doesn't throw praise their way.
I notice it even more in basketball and baseball season. Maybe its because they get stroked enough in football season that you don't see it as often. But Bama fans have this strange obsession with wanting everyone to give their other sports far more credit than what those programs actually deserve.
As paranoid as Auburn fans often are, there just doesn't seem to be a need from them for me to throw praise their way. Not like the bama fans.

I have no problem with the University of Alabama.
Uh huh.

But after living in this state for years I see a personality trait that exists in most Alabama fans that I would consider to be a flaw.
Oh, boy. This should be good.

Alabama fans have had so much football success and have so much to be proud of when it comes to their team and their University
Awww. You're sweet, but I'm sensing a tone change coming.

But for some odd reason, the need exists for most Alabama fans to hear it from opposing fans. Its as if a lack of praise from others might send them into a dark place.
For some odd reason, the fans of a team argue when someone downplays the team's accomplishments? NO. NO, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT FANS ACT THAT WAY GOOD SIR, DESPITE YOUR YEARS OF CAREFUL, THOUGHTFUL STUDY.

Not all bama fans are this way, but this type of behavior is far more common than among other fan bases I've been surrounded by.
What other fans bases are you surrounded by in Birmingham? OH shite I THINK YOUR SCIENTIFIC METHOD DUN BROKE.

This entire thread is a case study.
Uh huh. You're a very interesting case. In all my minutes of posting in this thread, I've never seen anything quite as painfully pretentious as you. IT'S QUITE ODD. QUITE ODD IT IS.

Auburn fans want everyone to praise an alumni when he is doing good so...

It's all quite bizarre....he lives in Birmingham and finds it very odd that there are all these Bama fans who think highly of their team.
He should test his hypothesis: Move to Pittsburgh or New England and see if Steeler or Patriots fans exhibit this trait.

he said, sending the "Case of the Birmingham Lunatic and the Small Sample Size" to the jury. Everyone stepped out of the courtroom to wait for the call that the jury had returned, but the jury was back in less than 15 seconds. The stunned judged managed to stammer out, "Have you reached a verdict?"
"No, your Honor," said the foreman, "as this isn't a case. I mean, BHMKyle isn't a lawyer, he's just kind of a douche. He just stood up there and said 'I rest my case' without making a case. He also said 'It's quite odd' more than an adult male ever, ever should, but I suppose there's no crime in that. Can we go now?"

No, you don't understand.
Alabama fans think highly of their team when their team is winning.... just like the fans of Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, LSU, etc. all do when their teams are winning.
It has nothing to do with Alabama fans' opinions of their own team, its Alabama fans' expectation of how fans of opposing teams should act that's the problem.
Here's an example:
Say Alabama plays a football game in the 2:30 PM CT time slot on CBS. Alabama wins and they win big. On Monday morning at the office, it would be one thing for Alabama fans to say, "Yeah, we had a fun time at the game Saturday. I think our team is pretty good. We'll be hard for anyone to beat."
There is a lot of this, and that should be expected. It's these questions that come from Bama fans that don't come from other fan bases:
"What did you think of my team's win last Saturday?"
"As a Georgia fan, what is your opinion of the Alabama football program?"
"How do you think Nick Saban compares to other coaches in the SEC?"
When I give a simple answer like, "Yeah, they are really good." Typically that answer is not long enough so a follow up question like, "Do you think anyone will be able to beat us this year" gets asked next.
It's strange. As long as I've lived in Birmingham, when Auburn is winning, the Auburn fans in my office will talk about their team and talk about college football in general, but I've never felt like they were prompting me to heap praise.
With Bama fans, its weekly. And its most all the bama fans I know. They are not satisfied until they hear me state how great their team is. It's honestly so strange, but its an epidemic.

U got a low esteem office. My pharmaceutical office is filled with LSU fans, and we are both respectful. Mainly because the football teams are the best. No need for adulation, it's obvious.

You work around some weird fu##ers then. I've worked in office settings for a number of years with lots of Alabama and Auburn fans and have never experienced that from either fanbase.

Dude - as the token Georgia fan in the office maybe they are just asking for your opinion not seeking some form of validation
