I think it's safe to say this idea is universally despised.
I have to be shattering the old record relative to how long it has taken me to win the hearts and affections of the forum here.
I have so many downvotes its slowing my computer down.

Now look here, meow. Everybody set the pitchforks down... for just a moment meow.
Everyone is acting as if I created these alternate uniforms, But I had nothing to do with them. I just found them on the innerweb, and brought them here to see if anyone could stomach a single one. After buckets, and buckets of puke I think its safe to say the answer is no, but I. did. not. design. them.
Ok ?
Now you over there with the hot tar, and you over yonder with the feathers and rope... C'Mon man ! Its just a little idea bouncing to see if maybe we could bring the program image up to date.
Yes it rains crystal footballs in TTown, and that is the cats-meow relative to recruiting, but trust me... a little fun with the uniforms ONCE per season may help land one more 5 star per class. Stupid as hayul I know, but every last one of us was likely stupid as hayul when we were 17, ah ?
Now I'm on record saying that these uniforms Tenn broke out the last couple seasons are what I would like to see Bama try once a season. Gray IS one of Bamas colors not tennessees.
If someone with the skills could change the yella in this picture to crimson that would be what I think would be sharp as hayul. Now if you dont like that then continue with the lynching.
BUT... I certainly would settle for white helmets, or a throwback uni to past years within Bama history... I mean why not pay a little homage to teams past ?

"I think it's great for recruiting," said Kansas coach Charlie Weis, who altered Kansas' uniforms to include five different sets for the 2013 season. "Recruits think, 'look at that helmet, if they wore this jersey with those pants.' Recruits love that stuff. So if it gives you a chance to get more players because they like the stuff, and ultimately help you win, that's what you have to do."
Well, hell, if lardass says they make a difference and...what were his words, "ultimately help you win"...well, he should know, shouldn't he?

Before Oregon got innovative with their uniforms they were literally the definition of a nobody. The uniforms put them on the map, and into contention for a title. If you cant see that well...
"It opened doors for us," said Oregon coach Mark Helfrich, who got his start as a graduate assistant at Oregon in 1997 and has been on the Ducks' staff since 2009 after stops at Boise State, Arizona State and Colorado.
Eventually, the school in the middle of nowhere became the trendiest program in college football.
Top recruits began mentioning Oregon as a school of interest. The Ducks' success on the trail has resulted in success on the field. Oregon's last four recruiting classes average 20th in the nation and the Ducks have played in four straight BCS games.
"You look at the history of Oregon football, and we have a spirit of innovation," Helfrich said. "It's something we pride ourselves on that started in the early '90s. [Uniforms] are how we got in the door at all. And now we're able to compete a little bit differently nationally with recruits, and we can at least get in the door. But more and more, it just puts you in front of some different people."

what about having fun with the uniforms for the A-Day game...recruits get that part of it, Nike gets to have fun and make more money, etc....
One team could do a throwback and the other could do Nike/Oregon type unis...
Thoughts...

Love it. Big recruiting day. Great idea.
Still want one game per season though, but at the bare minimum your idea is a great one.

Well... If you wont listen to me then listen to Bamas 5* OT commit, Alex Leatherwood.
He is a firm commit despite his desire to see other colleges throughout his recruitment. One of the schools that he will visit is Michigan. Leatherwood will be in attendance for the Wolverines’ game against Wisconsin on Oct. 1. Here’s what he had to say about his interest level in Michigan.
“(The Jordan uniforms) are freaking awesome,” Leatherwood told Brandon Justice of Landof10.com. “Michigan has too much sauce right now.”
From knowing Leatherwood, frankly, he’s too smart of a person to flip his commitment because of a school’s uniforms, so there’s really nothing to worry about with that quote.
He's talking about the uniforms Michigan altered slightly under Nikes MJ line. The kids love it.
If it helps recruiting wouldn't bother me at all to do something creative ONCE a season.

So if he said he liked Auburn big video board, should we change that?
What about if he liked how Tennessee has a river near the stadium?
Who the frick cares? Leave Bama as Bama.
