Are there enough younger fans to maybe freshen up the program image a little ? I know some of the older fans believe it blasphemy to even speak of such, but would it really be so bad to freshen things up a little ?

Lets start with the midfield logo:

Kinda boring when compared to say... LSU

Not only is the LSU midfield logo better looking, but it has a certain bad-asses play here feel to it. Most adults probably dont think it matters one way or another, but kids definitely notice little details like this.

I hear tradition a lot when talking about changing things up, but the fact is the current logo, and current uniforms came along long after Bama had a winning tradition.

For Example... I believe even this older logo would look a million times better than the current one at midfield.

But I would rather see a side profile of a bad-arse elephant much like LSU does... maybe something like this:

Now none of these are exactly what I would want. An artist needs to get involved, and create one that looks flat out evil. Long tusk, and a general look of "I will trample you to death" perhaps in the eyes.

The point being that the side profile of a bull elephant would be much more intimidating at midfield than a circle, and the recruits/kids would love it.

On to uniforms:

Like I said the current uniforms that everyone thinks would be blasphemy to alter in any way are predated by many other uniforms that Bama has worn.

Bama could put a spin on an older even more traditional uniform maybe once or twice a season ? Not talking every week here, but simply one game out of the season maybe ? Again... recruits/kids love that shite.

Here, look at what Tennessee did with their uniforms a few times last year; these uniforms no matter how much you hate tennessee are bad arse IMO.

Maybe once a year Bama could almost copy these grey uniforms replacing all the yellow with crimson ?

Or maybe Nike could update on one of Bamas oldest uniforms ?

Relative to the uniforms I'm just talking once a year for the kids and recruiting and what not... they would love it.

But the midfield logo desperately needs to be re-thought. Bama could do much better. The image of Bryan-Denny-Saban needs to be an intimidating one not to be outdone by anyone especially LSU.

We will wait until the next 5 loss season and then we will start putting a bit more metallic on the uniforms.

You keep saying lets change this because the recruits will love it. So in other words, you're saying to change it to help recruit. Why change anything when we've had the #1 recruiting class every year since like 08 or whatever. Don't change anything, more people would hate it than like it.

You say boring, I say classy. It's not cartoonish or trying too hard. Its almost to the point of being iconic to the stadium, that overhead shot every game.

I'd rather UT and LSU worry about being like Alabama than Bama worrying about being like them...

I like our midfield logo. It is much better than the old elephant through the A.

And paint on the field will never be intimidating.

Really don't care about the uniforms. I wish we would let Nike go wild at least once and let us see what they could come up with.

I do thin the midfield logo is boring, but not a whole lot we can do with our current and past branding. Not real crazy about an elephant logo, other than maybe doing an eye like LSU does and then we're just copying them.

I'd only support an different uniform if it was true to a throwback we used to wear, and it was limited to one game a year.

But I'm an old.

But I thought you all have been holding your breath waiting for white helmets ?

You all do understand that the current logo, and current uniforms are "new" to really old Bama fans right ?

I'm 24 so I assume I qualify as a "younger fan". I think all of your ideas are garbage.

We're fvckin Alabama. We don't do that shite.

We're more different for NOT doing stuff like that than everyone else is FOR doing it.

Respectfully disagree with most of this. I think the midfield logo fits the character of Alabama football. It's not flashy, but it is bold and strong. If they were to change it to anything, I wouldn't mind seeing the actual university seal on the field.

I do agree they need to bring back the old school elephant with the block A. Just not at midfield.

Every single hater in this thread would be excited if Bama came out of the tunnel with some sort of new uniform at some point this season.

Same for the midfield logo.

Don't lie.

I'm laughing because I remember

(a) when they added the script A at midfield and half the fanbase had a conniption fit AND

(b) when we added the color to the endzones and got rid of the old ALABAMA writing and my grandfather acted like we had just disbanded the Union

I really dont care for them either. I like the black helmets with the crimson stripe that I posted a moment ago though.

Since grey is one of Bamas colors I could see a grey helmet like tennessee did with crimson stripe and numbers...I think that would be sharp.

I would be happy if I walked into BDS and saw this field.

Walking in and seeing that white Alabama in the endzone is seriously one of the 3-4 consistent memories I have of games as a kid.
