I'll start pining for changes when I hear a recruit say "frick Bama's trophy room. I wanna wear a new jersey and get tackled on that cool tiger at midfield."

Yea, again, if the goal is to be "different" (which we don't have to be because we are Alabama), then we are distinctly different than 90% of college football. Our jerseys are the same they were in 2010 and 2005 and 1975. You can count on your fingers and toes the number of other CFB programs in America that can say that.
Wearing grey/black/chrome jerseys isn't different at all. It's the norm. It's what EVERYBODY does these days. Everyone in our league outside of Alabama, Auburn, Florida and LSU have worn some sort of Black/Grey/Chrome jersey the last 5 years.

I couldn't find a photo but I remember being at the Bama vs UGA game in 2002, I believe it was the first year there was a midfield logo. It was just the script "A" and did not look good. I like the the current "Circle A" logo at midfield though.
Secondly, if logos and uniforms are what is most important to a good recruit, I'm not sure they will do well at Bama anyway.
Edit, somewhat seen here even though it is Legion Field.

Which is still a "thing" to some people. My dad, who graduated in the late 1970s, actually brought up that we didn't used to have names on the jerseys just this past weekend while watching the Yankees on TV hahahahahaha

Yes. Thus the "really old Fans" description in the post you quoted.
Everything is relative, and everything about Alabama football, the uniforms, field, and field logos are all "relatively" new.
And I'll do you one better... eventually somewhere down the line changes will take place, and new ideas will be explored. :gasp:

I don't really care about changing anything, but the only thing that gets me is that we have like 3-4 different fonts on the field between the endzone, the midfield logo, and the padding on the endzone walls. Need some cohesiveness.
If we were to change the uniforms, my only suggestion would be to use the pants we had for the 2010 Miss State game:
and use the neck logo from that same uniform (minus the gray)...

The Packers don't wear black uniforms, the Yankees don't have white hats and multi color uniforms, and Alabama wears crimson jerseys, crimson helmets with numbers and white pants.
And if you messed with any of those unis those fan bases would revolt. They've won in the same stuff for years and are American icons because of it. You don't change something just cause. That's what programs/franchises looking for attention do. Or franchises where their fans want it (most of ours don't).
