I don't understand belittling concerns about a young defense that was just dominated in both the 2nd and 4th quarters.

I'm not saying the sky is falling, but to laugh at people have concerns at the overall makeup of this team in terms of national championship level opponents is not crazy sky is falling talk. We'll dominate most of our schedule, maybe all. Hopefully by November we've rounded into form.

Just my two cents.

George we are fine and have a tradition of playing down to our opponents. Once evans and Jennings are back and play a real opponent the anger will return.

Looks at the Georgia Southern game for example. The sky fell that day.

In other news, Vandy just beat K-State.

Gonna see a very good defense next week.

Our starting offense will destroy their defense.

I don't really think that compares at all. That was a random game against a specifically different offense after a full year of defensive domination

That's one game, the defense dominated the whole year, and it was against a offense we've don't usually play.

We've never given up this many yards or points to a G5 team in years.

It felt like for the most part the secondary kept tight coverage, but they just have to get their head around. That can be worked on. CSU had some good players catching the balls out there, and I thought their QB had some great throws. The pass rush is dead though. The drop from last year feels huge.

The offense? Why is Jalen having so many runs against a team like CSU? Why the risk? Just run the amazing RBs you recruited.

Good news is Calvin and Robert Foster have some speed.

That's his game. It's not changing. I'd just put that question to bed.

I get it. If it is a game against a SEC team or in the playoffs idc if you run it to death. I don't think this team can handle a true freshman QB the same way last years team did.

It does though, we overlooked an opponent and got burned.

Looks a ton of people think Jalen takes a 1 read and runs. That's a designed play lol, it cracks me up when they think he just does it randomly.

In order to pressure the QB, we had to use safety blitzes.

that's weak

Not really that concerned. I knew that we would take a step back on defense after what we've lost the last two years, plus the injuries. Once we get some folks back, we will be rolling.

Not worried about the offense at all.

this game was never in question. It wasn't close. They scored 23 points, big whoop.

Its going to be a fun year. Enjoy it.

This board is full of sunshine pumpers.

This team is not the best in the country right now, and the reasons probably aren't correctable over the course of a season. Hand has been here for 4 years, he isn't going to turn into a good pass rusher. Hurts isn't going to look at his second read, so when teams are able to contain him we'll sputter. The defensive backs aren't going to win 50/50 balls against big receivers on a consistent basis, they aren't coached to. This is the first time since 2008 that I haven't expected a national championship. I think there's a decent chance we run the table. Despite our deficiencies we're still the best team in the league, but we'll get our arse kicked in the playoffs if we don't improve dramatically over where we are now. Any team that can shut down Jalen's legs is going to give us everything we can handle. It's pretty discouraging at this point. Call it spoiled or whatever, but this group is not championship caliber and I have some pretty big doubts they can get there. It's a steep hill to climb. Losing Miller and Lewis has crippled this team, we can't play how the coaches want to play.

About the only positive I can take from the defense tonight. This is the first time in years I'm honestly concerned about teams running the ball on us.
