From an insider on BOL:

quote:

Some insight into what has transpired over the last 48 hours regarding Tosh. I get some insight from inside the complex from time to time but this is my first time to share any of it mainly because it isn't that sensitive.

Tosh was offered a job by Kirby on UGA staff with a bit of a raise bigger title etc. He didn't accept on the spot, went to Nick and told him about the offer and he wanted to go.

Nick already losing quite a few coaches and possibly more. So on the spot he offers him a 100k raise and an upgrade in title to either Associate/CO/Assistant DC.

Should see all approved next board meeting.

quote:

Yes, my understanding is that he accepted on the spot and is staying.

Another insider on BOL:

quote:

I occasionally get inside info as well and I am hearing the same thing as ColumbiaTider. Tosh get's Co-DC title with Pruitt. Not crazy about the Co-titles but it took that to keep Tosh and Pruitt will be calling the defense. Also hearing, as stated on here numerous times now, that it is looking more and more like Kiffin will be back.

If message board insiders are to be believed, yes. Not a bad replacement for Smart.

I look forward to what the insiders have to say as opposed to the Mods. LOL

Someone convince me Pruitt's coaching/playcalling ability is worth his douchiness.

Very excited if Kiff comes back. Let's be honest, Sims and Coker were the two lowest rated QB prospects on our roster coming out of HS and he did a damn good job with both.

Can't wait to see him continue to develop much higher rated prospects.

For what it is worth, some guy at radio station in Hunstville tweeted this out with a picture of Pruitt.

He's done a way better job of slowing down Auburn under Gus than Nick and Kirby, so that is a win in my book.

Yeah same here. Unless that booster story was true or if he was getting a good HCing good the idea of him leaving never really made sense. From a lot of reports this fall it sounded like he REALLY wants to coach Barnett. RB will be an obvious rebuild, but we will be stacked at WR next year.

This from a current support staff member: (some confirms info that is already being discussed)
1) Lane wants to either stay at Bama 1 more season or go to the NFL as an OC. He prefers Bama. Saban wants him back 1 more year as well.
2) Tosh is highly valued by Saban. Saban wants him on the staff and the feeling is that Tosh will be back even though Kirby really wants him at UGA.
3) Napier is the most likely to move on although Saban wants him to stay. UGA or Florida are his 2 most likely destinations where he will get a larger title and greater influence on offensive game-planning.
4) Most feel like Mel Tucker will go back to the NFL. He doesn't care for recruiting and with Kirby gone we need all hands on deck on the recruiting trail.
5) Bobby Williams will be taking an admin position and this support staff member is very hopeful HE will take his place.
6) Rumor is Scott Cochran will be awarded a healthy raise that will make it almost impossible for him to bolt for UGA. If he leaves for UGA it will demonstrate just how much of a friendship he and Kirby have.
7) This Coach says that the lost focus of the last 2 years will not come from the players. The players are as focused and motivated as they've ever been. If there is any lost focus it will be from coaches that are considering their job options for next year.
8) Bama will beat Michigan State and play Oklahoma for all the marbles...this is the general feeling of the coaching staff.

Do not wanna lose Napier. He has been great for us.

Want Tucker to stay too but understand if he sets his sights back on the league.

Insider on BOL posted this:
quote:

Lane is staying. Cochran is staying. Looks like Tosh is staying, although I still stand by my earlier post that it was possible that he leave for UGA. Pruitt is coming back. Trying to find out about Tucker.
