Rumors on the UGA side are wild right now. From them keeping Pruitt as DC, to Smart asking for an out in his contract for the Alabama job to Smart getting cold feet because it was leaked too early.

Funny stuff

Is Jeff Dillman still on staff at UA? Mcelwain didn't retain him at UF, and I think he got some type of job here. He's a big time S&C coach from the Tommy Moffit tree that Cochran is part of.

The one thing that I still wonder about is why Cochran would follow Smart this year. Cochran is just one year away from being vested in the state retirement system. While that's not a big deal for Smart, as he is about to get paid, this would be a deal breaker if I were Cochran, because there is no way that UGA could pay enough money to offset it.

I'm guessing Cochran and Kirby are good buddies and it's funner to work with a buddy than for a CEO like Saban. That said, Cochran has it made at Bama...not sure leaving is the right move for him, but he has to do what he feels is best.

Without a doubt.

And to go where "they're wearing black because its their M'FN funeral" coming from him seems interdasting.

I expect Jeremy Pruitt to land at Alabama replacing Kirby Smart. I'm told he's also interested in Michigan DC job.

Not my favorite DC, but his recruiting ability and the fact that our HC is Nick Saban would allow me to be ok with him calling the defense.

Would be a good hire and I think that would help our GA recruiting hold together

Pruitt is a very good coach and a good recruiter, I'd be extremely happy to get him back.

Custody battle over Cochran (per TideSports):

quote:

Nick Saban isn't just rolling over and letting his strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran go to Georgia to eventually join Kirby Smart's staff. He's fighting to keep him.

Saban is attempting to convince Cochran to stay with the promise of a significant raise, The Tuscaloosa News has learned.

Cochran received a $25,000 raise in June to bring his total salary to $420,000.

Once Smart is officially announced as the new Georgia head coach, which is expected to come as soon as Sunday, he is expected to target Cochran to be his strength coach. The Smarts and Cochrans have become close family friends during their time in Tuscaloosa.

Something else to consider is that Georgia's current strength and conditioning coach Mark Hocke worked closed with Cochran at Alabama for six years.

What I been hearing on the home front. Just a few things I heard as of yesterday. Wanted to share. I know it's been a while. Me and my wife had a little girl last August so I been living the daddy life. It's an amazing thing. Anyways..

* Kiffin is 110% gone after this season is over. No doubt. He has dug himself in a hole and no way out of it.

* Pruitt is a target for the DC position, But a big one also is Will Muschamp. Muschamp will be the prime target overall.

*Cochran looking to be on his way out as well but they will throw some dollar signs at him and try to convince him to stay. Right now it's 60/40 gone. Hope we keep him.

Anyway just a few little things. I know I'll hear more in the coming weeks. I have missed the site. Roll tide guys!

That is from an insider on BOL. Same guy called Rashaan Evans to Alabama when everyone else thought he was going to the barn.

I'm interested in why Kiffin is in a hole?

Also hope no Pruitt. That dude is a cancer.

Probably because he can't keep it in his pants.

I want Pruitt because recruits like him. If anyone can handle Pruitt, it's CNS. I'd prefer Pruitt to Muschamp any day.

I guess, I think it was overblown though.

I'd rather have leadership. Pruitt just is going to cause a redux of the 2013 team with infighting and bullshite. That's his MO. Pretty much antithetical to what Saban has mastered, getting everyone pulling the same way.

According to this report from Al.com, current defensive coordinator Will Muschamp is unlikely to return for a second season at Auburn. Citing sources within the Tigers' football program, Muschamp is expected to leave to be the head coach at South Carolina, follow Kirby Smart to Georgia as his defensive coordinator or fill Smart's old position as Alabama's defensive coordinator.
