I thought it was interesting that for the most part, the O dominated the D on the most recently released Big Cat drill, particularly in the trenches.

Why? They could easily let me coach. Set up a meeting with me and Alleva along with King. No BOS. NO others. Talk it out. Come up with a plan that is best for LSU. Put out a statement that LSU will continue to investigate this matter but at this time their is no evidence of wrong doing by coach Wade and because of this he will be reinstated.
Hmmmm......

quote:It's also perfect timing for the facade of Alabama appearing nearly invincible to crumble. They have been so much in our heads that we play them completely tight. If our boys have a great season leading up to that game, it will be our best chance to play loose and up to our actual potential against them in years. I think that's been a big factor in the drought.
There is obviously an optimism around this team I haven’t felt in years. These players are coming back because they want to do something special.

So many ranters trying to talk Devin into leaving and convince other ranters that it's a good idea. Curious.

quote:The idea that the facility is that big of a factor is another false narrative. Sure, the facility is gorgeous, top of the mountain at this point. There are so many other factors and every recruit has different priorities.
Talent level at LSU behind Finnegan and Edney just doesn't look near as strong as the last 5-6 years. Seems odd given that the facility they have is unmatched in the country.
Why isn't recruiting improving?
The most important thing about the facility is whether it is good enough for them to train safely and efficiently. After that, the school, the location, the culture, the other girls on the team, and the support structure come into play. The culture in CA at UCLA is fairly different from the culture in LA at LSU. Not a whole lot can be done about that.
Also, all of these girls know each other from the circuit, so one might choose a school for one factor and another chooses to be with her friend(s). You also have to account for the fact that most of these girls have lived a very sheltered/sequestered life and did not go to regular school, which also complicates things.
Needless to say, recruiting these girls is very difficult and tricky. Even with the best facilities and the best recruiters, it's difficult and takes some luck to land the best girls in a given year.
Edited for typo.

Really polished looking for last year and still a sophomore. His seam passes are lasers and his runs are very smart.

One thing is for sure. The more players that announce they are staying, the more likely others like White and Lawrence will join them.

quote:It is really tough. Gymnastics is very different from baseball and much more subjective. The difference between good and perfect is so small. Even when you think you nailed it, it still depends on the judges and a 10.0 still only gives you around a 0.1 point advantage most of the time, But like baseball, it takes a team that is peaking at the right time and a little bit of luck to win a NC. Hopefully all the chips fall into the right place this year.
When are they going to win a national championship? It took Skip 4 times going to Omaha before they went and won one. DD's been to 7 Super Sixes.

Great show by our fans, great show put on by our girls, our coaches, and everyone else on the production team! The team had a few miscues but overall look like they can compete with anyone as usual.
I also watched the OK meet and they looked great as usual, but already some of their routines had some inflated scores. Along with FL and UCLA, we are going to have to peak at the right time and have a near flawless super six to win it. It is going to be tough, but we have a shot and our girls are working their butts off to make it happen.
Also, seeing the PMAC this Friday, there is no doubt that our fan base will also pack it and bring the noise once Wade and the boys start winning consistently. The Cal gymnastics coach said they had never seen so many people so loud for a gymnastics meet EVER. It was really great when our crowd cheered loud for a Cal gymnast struggling to stay on the beam. I am proud of our fans who brought it in all the right ways.

You're probably right, but we're going to play a lot tougher teams in the SEC that mistakes like that will cost us the game. I like Aranda, but he needs to be called out for his lack of adjustments!

That's funny. I recall a thread called "Thank you Dave Aranda" that was created yesterday and some people that cry about "negas" came in there to complain that we were congratulating Aranda and some even tried to say that he didn't do that good of a job.
What would you say to that?
