re: Pete Nakos and Wiltfong place RPM picks for LSU to land AJ Haulcy

There will always be people who will say, "I just wish the would have signed another....."
They signed transfers, and apparently good ones, at every position besides running back, kicker and linebacker, where they feel good with the players they already have.
No key players were lost, they brought in the top transfer class in the country, a really talented freshman class that will contribute, and the roster is full. It's as good as it can get. Coach 'em up and let 'em loose!

LSU played Missouri, which has a team ERA over 9.0. Tennessee didn't have that luxury. Missouri makes every team look good at the plate.
re: MAJOR issues with relief pitchers.

It's good to know the SEC-only pitching stats are better right now than they were in 2023.
The bad news is this staff has Tennessee, A&M and Arkansas coming up, which could change those numbers pretty quickly if they don't get something figured out.

You always brag about being in the marching band. Talking about "girly men" and guys "that have never played any organized team sports" would come better from someone who didn't spend his college years marching around in lines, wearing a silly little hat.
re: Curiel is an awesome get here....But his walk up music is the worst thing I've ever heard.
Posted by BillF on 4/19/25 at 7:02 pm
It's pretty simple. The music isn't for you, it's for him. He plays what he wants to hear, regardless of what anyone else wants to hear, which is the whole purpose of each player picking his own music.

The Rant is certainly not the place one would expect to find a critique of journalistic skills. Scores of posters on this board should have never passed high school English, if in fact they did.

Yep, all those teams are struggling tonight, but they're all still likely better than LSU. That's what matters.

That ace isn't so great
Riley Quick had Tommy John surgery and will likely be a first round pick as a draft eligible sophomore. They never pitch him more than five innings.
re: WTF is going on

It's not at all puzzling. They haven't beaten good teams all year. Oklahoma was a mirage, and the Tigers only swung the bats in one game that series.

Every hitter was completely fooled by the breaking ball. They'll adjust.

Once you get past the first joke, the rest are seldom funny. This thread is an example.

I still watch it every time I can, and I will continue to do so. It kicks off the college football Saturday, and I enjoy it.
As to the people who get all wet in their shorts and run to the keyboard to proclaim that they don't watch, then don't watch. The show will continue without you, but Corso will be missed.
Gonna seem strange without Coach ending the show with the mascot head.

It's gonna be great watching this.
We already have the replay booth reviewing a call at the end of the half or the end of a game to see if an incomplete pass landed out of bounds before the final second ticked off the clock.
Now we'll have a replay to show if the ball was placed at the spot before a team trainer actually stepped on the field.
We absolutely know there will be controversies during the season over this. It's college football officiating. It's a given.

Lester, you're feared by posters just as much as you're respected for your opinions. I'll leave it to you to figure that one out as you sit alone at your keyboard, devoid of any meaningful human interaction. Type away at 284,272, tough guy.

Aren't you the guy who is always talking about bring in the marching band when he was in college?
Not to be insensitive, but do you think discussing offensive line play is really in your wheelhouse?
