re: UT game time weather

I know when I worked in Austin, TX back around 2000-2002, it was 112 degrees one day, not by heat index and it was humid but not like La, humidity. However, that was the hottest day I experienced in all my life. When the wind blew it felt like a heater blowing on you at 112 degrees.

I think LSU will win. But, with all the players we will be missing, the score will be kind of like
LSU 55 - UCF 35, instead of LSU 55 - UCF 13. Even missing several players on defense, LSU's D is a winning match against UCF's offense. However, UCF's D is poorly matched against LSU's offense. We have elite offensive players, but have only played a little above average this year.

quote:
LSU cuts ties with Canada after one year and goes for the F-ing TE coach that hasn't calldd his own offense in over 20 years. You can't make this stupid shite up.
Apparently you don't mind making shite up. Canada left LSU, and was mutual. Canada and his spotty record of moving from school to school trying to land a HC position. Coach did make the mistake of hiring him, but I bet he had a lot of pressure to hire him. Canada's offensive style and methods simply don't work in a conference known for great defenses.
Prior to Ensminger taking over play-calling duties in 2016, LSU's offense had scored only nine touchdowns and was averaging 18 points and 339.5 total yards per game. In eight games under Ensminger that year, LSU improved drastically in every offensive category as the Tigers averaged 32 points and 464.9 total yards per contest during that span. LSU scored 38 or more points five times under Ensminger, including 54 in a win over Texas A&M and 38 against both Arkansas and Ole Miss. The Tigers averaged 7.1 yards per play and converted 46-of-102 third-down opportunities during that eight-game stretch.
So, we rewarded his hard work with a new hire for OC as LSU always jumps too fast, like the leap at Matt Canada who sucks by the way. Canada has jumped from school to school for years and even while at a school for more than a year he jumped position coaching, obviously trying to land a HC gig. If LSU wasn't prepared to make him HC, then he should have never been hired.
Coach E. has been at LSU for 8 years and did very well in the interim 2016 and now this season. He did a great job of mixing the play calling up, making adjustments, and putting the offense in a position to be successful. He will probably never be considered an elite OC. However, with these issues, OL protection and consistency, QB throws, sacks, bad decisions, WR drops, inexperience, RB blocking and mostly no elite RB, are all execution issues and on the players. No one group sucked, but to say it best, it was a "Team effort" that made our offense average and could have been much worse. The flip side is if we can simply execute at a higher level and Coach E. continues to improve, LSU will have one of the best if not the best offense in the country.
LSU's Game, The NCAA, ESPN, SEC Network, Storied Programs, and more...

This is mostly information on the LSU vs. a&m game, however, the game shows so many examples of corruption in college football as a lot of this has been going on in many other games with many other teams for quite some time now...
LSU strength of schedule, strength of record, and CFP ranking "was" a big "cog in the wheel" for the CFP, however it is interesting that with a loss to a&m, LSU dropped 4 spots in the AP and 6 spots in the Coaches Poll. Meanwhile, a&m after their "huge" win didn't move from #22 in both AP and Coaches poll. That to me is just more proof of corruption. I mean LSU drops big time and a&m just stays still. Does that seem correct to anyone. More proof of the total manipulation of the CFP, and not just this game but many others... I am not angry, I am just disappointed that what I would have considered purity of football is obviously no better than the NFL, or any other big pro sport.
1) The rule on the field was Interception and yes Mond's knee did touch for a second, but he in no way had possession at that point. Sure if you literally stop the video on that one frame of the video, it could look as if, "Oh his knee was down", which is exactly what the review and refs did. Replay manipulation(1st LSU Game Winner).
2) The 4th and 18 catch for a&m was on the other side of the first down marker by a half to whole yard and the refs didn't even review the spot or bring the chains out. Which is all meant to provide due diligence to get the correct call and that was definitely short of the first down(2nd LSU Game Winner).
3) The spike with 3 seconds closed out time in the game, yet somehow the clock the refs show has 1 second left where if you see during the live play the clock hits 0 right before or at the same time the ball actually hit the ground, definitely not after.(3rd LSU Game Winner).
4) There was more than one issue with OT, but the biggest was the catch, two feet down, turning forward(making a football move), with a nice hit jarring the ball lose for a fumble recovered by LSU(4th LSU Game Winner).
Who knows how many times LSU actually beat a&m before a&m eventually got their first win(Which is also a&m's first win against LSU since a&m joined the SEC). Oh and the way someone compared Kentucky's premature Gatorade bath "The Bluegrass Miracle", to the bath Coach O got. The biggest difference being, LSU actually had time on the clock for one more play and a&m needed 2 ref reviews(knee down and time is up) and 1 non-review on the 4th and 18 catch, to give a&m one more shot to send to OT. Even if a&m had not scored the TD, another penalty would have been called.
After the just overwhelming evidence that a&m lost 4+ times before they won, everyone else in the country knows, including a&m's honest fans, the outcome of the game was horrible for college football for everyone. It just gives us more proof of how "The People's" pure college football is so manipulated by the political influence, money, promotions, refs, even the kickoff time(Morning, Afternoon, or Night) i.e. knowing which teams thrive during morning, afternoon and evening games, and of course the marriage of NCAA, ESPN, SEC Network, and certain "Storied" programs.
Speaking as a college football fan and being totally objective, that is just one of the many games that is turning me and many other people off college football. It they aren't careful, college football will lose more fans as it has already began losing viewers.

It's all a part of the plan buddy... This is like 2011 all over again, accept this time LSU has a big chance to get in the CFP at 2 or 3, and then when we play bama again, we will not just win but, steal the NC in the night from a bunch of big slow dopey elephants. It's a long time coming since 2011.

Nah give me the CFP. Making friends and accepting a bowl just because... It should be Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and hmmm... Everyone else really sucks.
* Clemson obviously looks better now than when they almost lost to TA&M and Syracuse. But, they have a real chance of losing to South Carolina, just depends which SC team shows up.
* ND - joke(would get destroyed by a .500 SEC team, actually almost did lose to Vandy a sub .500 team).
* Michigan or OSU - I doubt it, with the way Northwestern is playing, NW will win the B10 championship leaving both OSU and Michigan out.
* OU or WVU - OU loses @ WVU and WVU loses @ Okie St. So these teams are out.
* WSU - I guess they could get to the CFP if they won out statement style, including the PAC-12 Championship. Even then they would come up short on even one key big game win. The little engine that couldn't...
* Syracuse - Yeah right the only 2 loss teams getting into the CFP are LSU and Georgia.
* UCF - Tada, we could have a winner. I mean if Clemson did lose, why not, there isn't anyone else left anyway. Bama vs UCF and LSU vs Georgia. You know that classic story of David and Goliath... Only if David had WMD's and Goliath didn't have the offense and defense of our great nation, but sadly its the truth. I mean lets be honest, UCF isn't even playing the same sport. UCF has been playing marbles while the SEC has been playing not just college football, but big boy college football.
They really should just for this year rename the CFP(College Football Playoffs) to SEC(South Eastern Conference).
 :snoozer:  :moon:  :rotflmao:
On a serious note, you gotta see this guy and not just because he is an LSU commit that has guaranteed LSU a sweep over Bama during his time at LSU. I mean DAAMMNN! Kardell Thomas I am glad he is with LSU. And hey if LSU is losing to Bama, he can always play DL and literally wipe out da elephants 1st, 2nd and 3rd string offense, and that would mean Auburn's O would hit the field since they are the state of Alabama's 4th string Offense.
That's all folks, I won't be here all week, or checking twitter, or really doing much else... :violin:

re: BOOM!!! 5* RB John Emery commits to LSU
Posted by djkevlar on 11/14/18 at 1:37 am
So awesome to have a Louisiana native and elite RB join LSU. These are the types of commits that will have others looking to join LSU, making us a household name in the CFP and National Championship, with wins year in and year out!
All of our commits are gritty, tough, talented, humble, hard working, smart, and most of all they play with "Chips on Shoulder" and "Mean Streaks"! Respectfully... :pimp:
Welcome aboard John E., to the one and only Death Valley where the Tiger is real for real!

re: LSU having exploratory talks with ex-Clemson QB Kelly Bryant
Posted by djkevlar on 11/10/18 at 9:15 am
I think the Burrow/Bryant or Brennan/Bryant combo would be excellent as it seems now more than every the QB position in college ball can actually use 2 types of QB's and both be leaders and very successful. It gives an offense an advantage to play which ever style beats a teams D, or takes advantage of a defenses weakest point. At the least, an offense with 2 QB's becomes versatile and less predictable.

Ok so you missed the point of it not being his decision. I could care less where he goes. And you might be right, maybe the whole thing was setup because of the game hype, or maybe the decision makers want to see brothers compete against each other... I guess we will see.

Exactly my point. He is being told where to go, and it would bring more drama, excitement, history, etc... to the college football machine. I mean I thought everyone knew that certain players get placed at colleges or bought to attend certain colleges...
re: Frank Wilson
Posted by djkevlar on 11/6/18 at 4:59 pm
Yes, bring Frank back! Another choice, although not quite yet, but Aranda as HC... After all he is the next gen of elite coaches, that would knock off a tired Saban... hehe
Tua's Brother coming to LSU? - On par with making history
Posted by djkevlar on 11/6/18 at 4:55 pm
It wouldn't surprise me at all if we got Tua's brother at QB. It would solidify the rivalry more. Brothers playing each other at QB not just in college football, but the SEC, and West no less. I mean how many new records or historical records could be made. All to keep the NCAA-SEC-Alabama-ESPN machine "rolling".
re: 6 TD passes on the year ...
Posted by djkevlar on 11/6/18 at 3:03 am
Those stats are a team effort:
* Offensive Line protection
* WR drop balls
* QB poor passes & holding ball to long
Some of that is experience playing with each other but, the biggest is:
* Coaching - Basically, stop being so damn predictable. The scheme, plays, formations, protection, etc., should all be to each players strengths. Putting our players in a position to succeed. And then of course the players must execute. Ensminger has done an average job of mixing in some hurry up, power eye, spread, QB runs, etc... But, I feel like they don't take what is given. i.e. we were successful in the passing game, and because the rushing was not successful, should have went with short fast passes, screens, wr screens, even run option...

Honestly the refs would have to eject our 1st and 2nd string offense, defense, and special teams, just for bama to even have a remote chance, so Noooo...

Tebow interview about how LSU can beat bama was actually very good, not bias, just good college football talk. Never was a big fan of course because he was with Florida, but he seems pumped up about the SEC and college football in general...

Those 1918 commemorative uniforms are awesome. I would like to see them in a day game where the helmets would be more gold while the sun is bright. I could see LSU using those helms a lot, and could wear them in place of the purple uniforms, by changing the white to purple and the purple outlining to white/gold. I love the traditional look of the helms but the modern graphic effects...
Would be great uniforms for a whiteout game...

That's looking ahead, which is fine for the fans... It depends on how dominate we are over bama, and how clemson does, but I would have to say #1. It just makes sense. Once we destroy bama, everyone will say well maybe bama wasn't as good as we thought, they will wonder when LSU will be tested or get a quality win, rofl, lol, wtflol...

Good blend of players and level of current ability.
We got some Juco guys to help out right away.
We got some guys who will play as true freshmen.
And we got some guys who need a year to develop.
So far so good. We need to close out strong. We want to close out with some of the best players for LSU. We don't need any primmadona's that think they are the center of LSU football. We want team players who help each other succeed. I don't care about LSU's overall recruitment ranking.
We have good players right now and think we will end up with 5 more excellent players.
