QB- Auburn- Garner is likely the starter for UofL, but he is coming off ACL surgery.
RB- UofL- Solid experience returning
WR- Auburn- UofL is replacing to much and Auburn has one of the best in the country.
OL- Auburn- UofL will likely have 4 new starters.

DL- UofL- They have experience coming back and added the former big 12 DPOY. Pio, Brown and Rankins are the real deal.
LB- UofL -they return Burgess and Kelsey and replace Mauldin with a former freshman all American Brown.
DB- push- they both have talent, but not yet proven

Punting- Auburn- no way it's worse than UofL's
Kicking- Auburn- UofL isn't bad, but not as strong as Auburns all purpose kicker

Auburn wins a close one.
Maybe you couldn't read my post, you obviously didn't watch the game. UofL's defense didn't give up 40 to UK. A QB that was 4th string a month ago gave up at least 17 with 4 TOs. Yet UofL still won.

If you don't think they have a solid defense then you either haven't watched the. Or you just don't know what you are talking about.

No doubt injuries are part of the game.
True, they beat UK by just 4 with their 3rd string QB playing against your 1st string full year starter. Our Frosh had thrown 7 passes in his career to date. He had more than 355 passing yds in 3Qs against your D.

It couldn't have worked out better. We take a kid off the bench from Lexington, KY to beat you guys and keep you from going to a bowl game. It just goes to show how far ahead the UofL football program is.

By the way, be glad the kid was shaky. He gave you at least 17 points with a pick six, fumble return for a TD and a fumbled handoff that turned into a FG. Without his miscues, the game wasn't even close.

I am not positive UofL would have won the East, but they would have been competitive. They finished 9-3 with major injuries all season. Parker only played 5 games. Dyer missed the first 5. Starting QB missed 4 and half of 2 others. They were 2 dropped punts late in the 4th quarter against Clemson and Virginia from being 11-1. They weren't spectacular this season, but they were a solid squad. Very solid on defense.
MSU has a great record and a horrible defense. You can't make it through an entire season with both.
I would argue that we made our name winning the Fiesta Bowl, the Orange Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. We made our name beating teams that you haven't in 20+ attempts. Still, your belief is that we are only making our name by beating a team that hasn't done anything in football in decades.

My post was about respect for the SEC and an honest assessment about the bias toward some teams in the conference. Your inferiority complex made it about UK and UofL. Truth is that I root for UK to become relevant again. I have nothing against them expect the day we play.
If a loss shut a fan up, then we'd rarely hear from UK fans Sept thru Nov. How long has it been since you beat an SEC team? We're not even in your conference and have beaten at least 3 since you last beat one.
There is no doubt in my mind that year in and out the SEC is the best conference. It has the best fan base and tradition.

There is also no doubt in my mind that teams exist in the SEC every single year that are overrated because they are in the SEC. They get the benefit of the doubt that others don't.

I have enough examples of both thoughts that it is pretty clear.

Without those benefits of the doubt (or $), UofL has done a solid job of building it's brand in the college football world over the past 2 decades. All things considered, UofL doesn't need to be ashamed of what they have accomplished. They have also consistently been under rated by the college football world.

Next up, they need to beat the 'Canes!
I know this is the common thought. Petrino leaves a mess everywhere. Regarding Louisville, although I love Tom Jurich, remember that Kragthorpe was Tom's best man in his wedding. He was trying to take heat off his friend and coach. Any objective observer would have to admit that Kragthorpes 1st team had a TON of talent. He had a bunch of players on that team go on to play in the NFL. Even some that are still playing (Starting RT on Super Bowl champs this year). Eric Wood has started since the first day he got to the NFL and continues to. He had Brian Brohm stay for his senior year. He had a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Year 2 is harder to defend, but Krags first year had a ton returning and was ranked in top 5 preseason. They struggled from day one on both sides of the ball and were lucky to get bowl eligible. I said it at the time. That wasn't on Petrino.
Anyone can be be ignorant. Congrats.
