Not sure if serious. Dude's a 4x NFL pro-bowler with 2 rings. I think he's qualified to coach CFB
LOL, how does any of that translate into a job of actually coaching and recruiting? Seriously, so anyone that has played video games their whole life is qualified to design video games. Two entirely different skill sets. Now his background would certainly increase his learning curve. But, do we take a chance running a high level program hoping the guy develops into a great coach? You think someone who has had his arse kissed his entire life is able to turn the tables on 15-18 year olds? I prefer to have experienced hires come into UGA, not hoping he can develop. If he wants to become a program coordinator or QC and earn his shot then that's how it works.

Little known fact about Yoculan... David Kelly, our RB coach for a couple years in the 90's was knocking fire from it while she was married. Helped lead to the decline of her marriage and primed her for Leebs.

I want spread elemets in the offense a kinda of melding of our offense and Oregon's. Tempo with power if you will, what I'd really like to see is running tempo with Jeb and Hicks in the game so you can flip between shotgun 3 wide and I without ever subbing and really frick with people.
That's what we got this year and it was awesome. Watching us run some I formation high tempo was nasty with our backs. We certainly mixed it well w/ single back and flexing our TE.

And you realize that there's a difference in what Oregon runs and what Ohio State runs, right?
Did you watch the game? In what ways did those offenses resemble each other other than not lining up in the Power I?
I do realize there are varying forms of the spread, you were implying by your OP that a spread team lost to a pro style team.
I don't disagree that OSU was a more physical team by how they run it.
I disagree at how far apart both teams approach are. Obviously TEMPO are different, but that doesn't define an offense. One is under center more than the other, but that doesn't change most of the offense. Maybe attack points.
Here's how they are similar and like any coaching staff worth a crap they tinker and adjust to personnel on both their team and the opponent.
They both use the inside zone to set the the vert/horiz stretch of the D. They both run split zone but block it differently and use different formations. I saw both run single back power, outside zone, straight single back option using the bubble as the 3rd option and a lot of play action.
Oh yeah the passing game, very similar. Both attacking down field, running verts and slipping some Y/H underneath or out on flood. Pretty sure OSU scored once on this. The differences in the passing game are primarily how the game plan unfolds and Oregon's heavy reliance on bunched WR packages. Oregon works more horizontal early to beat you deep late. Extremely effective if they can get you on your heels pounding the ball to later start dropping bombs on you when your moral is low. OSU mixes both early.
I could go on and on but remember this about a spread offense in football. They all are modified by who is running it, either by the tempo or the formations. So just b/c someone lines up a little different or looks stronger it doesn't take away of how the plays are drawn up or classified as an offense. Just who has better players and coaching.

You realize that was a spread offense that won the game, right?

Pertaining to Fester...Doesn't hurt Prince Miller is on staff. I live in the area as well and we are not that far off.

Have an old "BEER me" shirt still around somewhere.
Coach Kasey found humor in wearing this shirt to winter workouts, Ray Goff not so much.

I too visited this establishment during this time. Nickel nights w/ the Simpletons. Got into a big fight one night and was never allowed back.

Y'all did a great job Peter, but those of us that came in after you perfected it. It's obvious by our record during the 90's. Lot's of downtown all-americans on those squads.

No alter, always here. Used to live in the Mac and have a huge Panic dick, so while I have a lot to contribute, I mostly just read.

re: What is Ray Goff up to these days?

He was a dick when I was there. He's a little more humble now. But without a doubt, he was self absorbed and cocky during his time as HFBC.
