I graduated in 83 but you could go in the joints on 80 when you were 15 or 16 and nobody cared.

Nice piece of N LA history, I'll say early 70's. Been in the El Rancho and the Rockhouse. El Rancho was a mix of rock n roll and country, think Aerosmith then Conway Twitty. It was ok for a white kid to be in the Rockhouse but you better be with somebody cool, hardcore R and B, I remember they had the Brothers Johnson on the jukebox (look it up!)
I saw alot of fights but never saw a shooting but there was a killing at least once or twice a month on the Hwy 80 coorridor.

There is a subculture of Putin love in this country in general. It's more about him embarrassing the President IMO. Still, Romney was actually correct in his assessment of our "largest geographical foe".
Russia is absolutely the biggest, most viable threat we face.

Just completely amazed at some of the stupid in this thread.
A question for you anti government mouthbreathers? where do you think the ruling elite came from in Russia? the government. How did they get ubber wealthy? selling government property (oil and gas leases, weapons) after the fall of communism. Who has been the absolute model of this process? Career government emplyee Putin.

The Wisconsin game is huge, man we are going to be young on O (which may not be a bad thing).

It really was the beginning of a new type of warfare.
What twisted me off was the denial of military decorations for those involved, the Reagan Admin was embarassed but it never was clear if it was the administration or the military. I know the people that were there or QRF got their decorations years later.

Medal of Honor: Roy Benevidez. Great story not only about the military heroics but his struggle growing up. Great video of him on youtube.
Shovel Ready: Adam Sternbergh. Garbage man one day hit man the next. From the new authors section at BnN. Really good.

Some of the early war atrocities were brutal. This was before the industrial killing when you put a pistol to a man, woman or childs head and pulled the trigger, and did that thousands of times per day. I can believe that would be hard to live with.

Good piece on China this morning on GPS, essentially said that China is due for a big correction sooner than later. I didnt know they have been pumping cash into their economy since 2008, think TARP on steroids with no end date.

10 years? Dunno. Illegals (today) will be voting by that time. It seems to me whomever secures that block is going to be running the show for a long time.
