re: Hospital employees of the OT

I'm a med student at LSU-NO, currently rotating at UMC. Students were pulled from clinical rotations after going in Monday morning. Prior to that, we were told to avoid seeing any patients on respiratory precautions, or anyone with fever/cough, which is a pretty large % of patients. Also, students were told not to use any PPE, which is already running low.
Walking through UMC, obviously there were considerably more patients on strict respiratory precautions compared to normal. The hospital as of Monday was not saturated, and actually looked like a ghost town thanks to limiting visitors, sending home non-essential personnel, and cancelling office visits/procedures not deemed acutely necessary. However, if #'s continue to rise at the predicted rate, I expect NO hospitals will start to develop problems quickly, probably within the next week, 2 if we're lucky. Every day more and more COVID rule-out patients come in. As I'm sure everyone is aware, ventilators will become scarce and PPE is tough to find readily-available.
Of course, teaching medical students is not exactly a top priority during these times, but I couldn't imagine having to act as a school administrator through this. Scheduling of clinical rotations between 3rd and 4th year is extremely complicated, with important deadlines for trainings/residency applications/graduation requirements scattered all throughout the year. Should students continue their rotations because 'this is what they signed up for'? Is there a chance that hospitals & staff may become overwhelmed to the point of needing student's around to give an extra helping hand? But wait, is it wrong to have students paying $1000's in tuition continue to enter hospitals with increasing #'s of COVID cases, putting themselves and their families at risk? If we do send students in, are we essentially sending hundreds of vectors into the hospital and out into the community every day?
I'm on board with administration pulling students for now. I think with cases rising, we're simply going to contribute to community spread by continuing to go to the hospital. Whatever happens, it's logistical nightmare.

re: Is Alabama fastest enough to shut down Guice sideline to sideline?
Posted by 400lb. Ape on 11/3/15 at 12:36 pm
Guice just walked past me on campus and the dude freakin bounces everywhere he goes. He's leaning forward constantly and looks like he's always about to take off in a full sprint and bull rush you if he's walking toward you. You can just tell he's a freak athlete.
re: Does Bama blitz Harris or keep him in the pocket?
Posted by 400lb. Ape on 11/2/15 at 7:49 pm
Honestly, I don't know how I'd approach it defensively. In the past few meetings with Bama we've come out hot on offense with some different looks. I have a feeling we'll see more screens this game than usual.
If they do blitz often, they will get some sacks on Brandon, but if he stays healthy throughout the game I think he'll beat them way more often than not. You know what that means...
LSU stacked. Bama fuq'd.

I was at the Auburn/Ole Miss game this weekend and randomly got into a conversation with this guy who goes to Auburn, but claims to be a Bama fan. He was wearing Auburn gear, but said when they play Bama he wears crimson and cheers for the Tide. He had no connection to Bama at all. I hate Auburn, but I still wanted to yell at the guy.

Set up your tent Friday night, but don't put the cover on it until Saturday morning or you can kiss it goodbye.

Will Grier doesn't think Leonard should be allowed to auction off his jersey for SC flood relief.
