re: Alabama Defense's Achilles Heel

The secondary could be another thread. There is no doubt that it has been a frustrating problem for the Tide over the last couple of years too. Although Mel Tucker won't be in the limelight, I'm excited to see what he has thought these young DB's and I think his impact will be huge. I do agree with you, if you shore up the DB's then stopping a running QB becomes much easier.
If there is a glimmer of doubt in Coker (which I think there is) then find the underclassman whether it be Barnett or Cornwell and deal with growing pains. The SEC is relentless so confidence and experience is critical as the year progresses. Sims as a senior struggled immensely at times even late in the season. Imagine what type of QB he'd be if he were back another full season. A QB's class doesn't matter in this conference.

Alabama Defense's Achilles Heel

Is this the year that Alabama's defense isn't terrorized by a mobile QB? There is no pro form team that can beat Alabama on their best day, but a mobile QB has exposed this defense for many years. There is a lot of justified hype for Alabama's D this year, but I wonder has Kirby Smart finally figured out how to fix this gap?
