That was for the forced prospective stuff when they fight the giants
The ironic thing about all of this is there is an argument that can be made that this is a conservative film based on the theme(s).
Say whatever you want about the last Jedi but it did like 1.3B at the box office

So he just picked the summer of 2026 to talk about something that happened in 2021?
It sounds like it.

That would be quite a dud if that press release from 2021 is the topic. Has something new been uncovered recently?
Be prepared for a dud.

Also, the fbi has made their Iran 2020 election interference page private
They are hoping people have forgotten about the story from the summer of 2020 and will use it as even more justification to be at war with them.

Ehh…they all have to if they want to win an Oscar now, even THE Christopher Nolan.
He has one.
I do think the criteria is silly. But that’s a different conversation.
I’ll concede he checked the boxes for Oscar eligibility, but is that enough to label it “woke?”
Do we have to label every movie “woke” that is in Oscar contention?

You obviously believe yourself to be morally and intellectually superior to those who don’t see things the same way you do. I would just caution you to be more humble about what you believe you understand.
I can’t believe I’m about to do this but I’m bored.
I could understand the backlash, that I think for the most part is non existent, if Nolan cast Page in Damon’s role. Heck, maybe even Michael B Jordan. I may not be bothered by it but could at least understand the foundation of the argument by someone who is.
The outrage over the two casting choices for roles that are probably extremely minor (I think I page is like 8th billing at best) is overblown
I don’t think Nolan as gone “woke.”
I think he probably casted an actress he wanted to work with and casted Page because he worked with her before. He does that a lot.
I don’t think, probably the biggest director currently, feels like he has to pander to anyone.

Also, for people to claim zero interest in seeing the movie, they sure as hell seem to post in every thread on this board about it.
Anyone who has posted in this thread, or any threads about this movie, will go see this movie. 1000%
It’s a movie.
I felt the same way when people on the other side were saying how upset we should be because of a jean commercial

I wonder how upset we would all be without someone telling us to be upset about something.

The floor is definitely 2-10. Qb will be a problem all season.

Just wait for the melt when they find out it’s actually Elliot Page who is playing Helen.

Film production typically follows five main stages: Development (idea, script, financing), Pre-Production (planning, casting, crew, locations), Production (principal photography/filming), Post-Production (editing, sound, VFX, color), and Distribution (marketing, release). This structured process moves from concept to finished, marketable product, though some models simplify it to three core phases: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production.
The cast began being announced the summer of 1999 with IM being officially announced in July 1999. Filming started late November I think.

That would be pre production.
They didn’t start shooting until 1999.
X-men came out in 2000. Production for LOTR started in 1999

At the time of filming (1999) I couldn’t argue against most average movie audiences probably recognizing Tyler or Ian.
