I still think that the sparseness of it was intentional, giving them extra time to get the usual production process going. If you're mapping out the entire season, giving yourself an easier start seems pretty advantageous.

I get where you’re coming from but that episode was written first. They write the whole season then block of 3 months to film in South Carolina.

The whole production was planned out before they shot a frame.

You have 2 candidates that most Americans don’t care for. It has and always was going to be a close race. That doesn’t mean it won’t break either way towards either candidate but it’s close.
