Surely you can see the idiocy of suggesting a parole board member should have personal criminal liability and be subjected to their own liberty being taken away if anyone they grant parole to recidivate.
I think you are really just of the opinion that no one should be eligible for parole and everyone should have to do flat time. Which is fine. I don't disagree.

If you parole out, three members of the parole board have to vote on whether to grant your parole or not.
If you good time out, you are released by operation of law. A person, dog, or computer do not have a say so.
I have no idea how he was released but it isn't a guarantee that somebody made the decision to release him that had the authority to not release him.

He was sentenced to 40 and did roughly 30. But I am trying to figure out if you are saying the members of the DAs office who prosecuted him 30 years ago should go to Angola for a few years for failing to secure a life sentence, or that whoever decided he should be released early and not do the entire 40 years should be sent to Angola for a few years?

Ben Davis was the 10th overall recruit in the nation in 2016 via the 247 compostie... The #1 inside linebacker.
Devin White was the 151st ranked recruit overall in the nation in 2016. (He was also listed as a RB not a LB). I remember thinking it was absolutely insane that Bama got Ben Davis and Mack Wilson in the same class.
Fast forward a few years and Devin White gets taken top 5 overall in the draft and wins a Lombardi trophy. Ben is transferring to get some play out of his last year of gifted eligibility.
Recruiting rankings are fallible and we should remember that more often.
