And I saw him play as a freshman against Tulane in New Orleans. Also many times with the Jazz. That’s New Orleans Jazz for you youngsters.
Maybe it’s been discussed and if so I apologize. But that hit on Daniels was BS - anyone else agree ? And the announcers blaming Daniels for not being alert seemed unfair. Looked like defenseless player but maybe that’s no longer called (or ever was) in college ball.
1972- Ole Miss not USC. Bert Jones to Brad Davis. And I was at the game
For me if we talking childhood - it was Nelson Stokley. I took my Polaroid camera to the Sugar Bowl press day. All the players were dressed in game uniform. Took picture of Stokley and other offensive players. About 5 years ago I tweeted the picture to Brandon Stokley. He actually acknowledged saying something like thanks very cool. So approx 50 years later and I have an indirect connection with my childhood hero. Very cool #14 Nelson Stokley.
I was 11 years old when I attended my first LSU game vs Alabama. The year 1965 and we lost to Alabama 31-7. Two months after Hurricane Betsy and Jean Dixon predicted a chlorine barge that sunk in the Mississippi River would implode during the game. My buddy and I were actually freaking out until the predicted time passed. For those of you to young to remember — Jean Dixon made many predictions and her claim to fame was the one where she predicted a a young US President would be shot. This all from memory that may need to be fact checked. Not the game though, it was 31-7.
one my all time favorite movies - Blazing Saddles. Showing our age here ??
And what if QB Zack Lee signs with LSU in 2010ish instead of the Dodgers hoping to be the next Don Drysdale.
House is doing a really poor job. Arkansas and Ole Miss both held Bama to 24 points

Left out fact that Alabama has steadily improved on offense (QB and others) since those games were played. Our D has not.
USC,UCLA,Oklahoma and Bama. could be a challenging year.
while you’re at it give him your address, home phone and cell phone # ‘s ??????
Brody’s coverage of LSU was fantastic as well as the comments from the peanut gallery - thoughtful and insightful comments. I knew the NYT would screw up The Athletic after the purchase.
last year A&M game. fumble returned for TD was a turning point in the game.
1972 freshman year. Bert Jones to Brad Davis for the TD to even the score with no time left on the clock. Then the successful extra point for the win.

Set you clocks back one second you are now entering Louisiana ( sign at the LA/MS border from what i’m told.
@penrod - I was at the LSU/FSU game in 1982 and like you noted the atmosphere was nuts. I should say oranges when they came out of the stands.

Unfortunately after a red hot start including victory over Alabama, they book-ended the FSU game with losses to Miss State the week before and Tulane the week after (in BR).
True Story - Dinardo was originally from Brooklyn NY. The LSU Alumni Association arranged a crawfish boil in NYC to meet the Coach. At a place called Brother Jimmy's on the UES in Manhattan. The crawfish comes out and Coach clearly hasn't had much experience with eating them. He struggled and appeared to put the head near his mouth -- immediately one of the ladies with the Association comes running over saying Coach let me help you. I don't recall the comeback but I'm not sure he ever became a big fan. We did chat a bit about being from NY and now living in BR. Nice guy, down to earth. I think I mentioned the 28-8 beat down of ND by LSU and Bert Jones. As you may recall he played for ND.

Would have liked for both UM and TCU to miss final play field goals yesterday. That would have set in place the possibility for both to be two loss teams.
