Agreed brother, I can’t imagine caring about college or professional basketball in the Lord’s year 2026.

Can you actually buy a Rolex from a Rolex AD for MSRP?

Well an actual Rolex AD can’t charge you more than MSRP, but it’ll probably be difficult to make a purchase without a purchase history at the AD, unless you are lucky. I bought an Explorer I about 3 years ago from an AD with only about a 24 hour wait, it was my third purchase from the store though.

Elective procedures canceled.

All clinics were closed too, from what I heard.

The only thing I can come up with is golf. Shorten the course to adjust for driving disparity, and the rest of the game is basically hand-eye coordination. You are playing the course and the mind instead of your opponent’s body.

Because it’s not a sport, it’s a competition.

I would guess it comes from stories like this being buried while other stories just like this with a couple of variables switched we would be spoon-fed nonstop. That's been explained probably 4-5 times already

It just seems like a miserable existence to focus on any of this stuff so much. Life doesn’t have to be a constant conflict of my side versus yours.

I guess I don’t see everything through a political lens, so I missed out on the fact that this was politically driven thread, but I guess that makes more sense than someone just being obsessed with sharing horrific stories.

Id rather the truth then the made-up bullshite like hands up don't shoot. He was a good boy.

I think some of you are taking what I’m saying incorrectly. I’m not some lefty looney, I’m not attempting to minimize crimes that occur, and who commits the vast majority of those crimes. I probably have very similar beliefs to most of you in this thread, I too also think the mainstream media is fraught with bullshite narratives.

I’m just saying in general, I don’t understand the mindset of wanting to run to the OT and post stories about people being murdered. It’s just weird to me to want to do that.

*Somehow comes across awful story of murder, thinks “I must share this on TD”*

How does someone get to that point in their life?
quote:

People like you are why young women don’t know about the dangers around them in the world. You should want to be aware of what people are capable of to educate your kids

I’m well aware that awful things happen every day, I’ve mentioned it multiple times already in this thread, some of you have an unhealthy focus on those things though.

It’s as bad as folks who have their TVs tuned to news channels 24/7, that shite isn’t healthy.
quote:

Bliss from your wilful ignorance?

I am aware that awful things happen, so it’s not ignorance. I would just prefer to focus on more joyful happenings. One of the reasons that I stopped following “the news” is that they only shared awful stories. It’s not healthy to focus on those things.

quote:

What do you get out of ignoring them, pretending they don't exist, or asking people why they care?

It’s a downer to open the OT and see the same people constantly sharing stories of awful things happening, I just don’t understand the logic behind thinking, “oh, for some reason I found this awful story of a child being murdered, the first thing I must do is share this news with the OT”
Terrible shite happens, more at 8.

Do we really need to post every awful thing that occurs? Clearly there are atrocities that happen every day, I just don’t think it’s productive to dwell on that shite.
I really don’t understand bringing awful shite like this to the OT, what do you get out of spreading terrible stories like this?
Rather than give something up, I attend at least one weekday mass every week during Lent.
quote:

After receiving your ashes on Ash Wednesday, how long do you keep them on your forehead? Do you brush them off when you hop back into the car? Wear them all day?

Usually just keep them on until I shower at night, but I also usually go to a 5pm service and the only people that I see afterwards are my direct family that I live with.
I treat food like I treat alcohol. Do I prefer high end fare or whiskey? Absolutely, but I’m not above drinking a Miller Lite or a Spicy Tuna roll.

I will say that if a restaurant offers a Crudo, 9/10 I will order it.

Are we talking about college football? If so, Burrow, Newton, and Tebow were way more impactful.

Top 3, done

The other day I offered my 5 year old a sip of a coke realizing she's never tried it before, she refused.

My 4 year old thinks that a Coke is a mommy and daddy drink, I don’t think she’d try it if offered either

It took me a couple trips to figure this out but LaFonda is the place to go with a group of friends, hang out at the bar and get bombed while it takes a couple hours to get your table, crush a few caldrons of chips/salsa/bean dip, and order the same chimichanga that I always do, swearing that one day I'll try something different.

Basically this, except I get the Don Briggs or Chicken Wings

ETA: oh and the “fried rabbit” which they finally re-labeled to chicken

Not a fan of La Fonda, some can't live without it.

It’s more of a place to go and have a good time than a place that has outstanding food.
I have kids so I don’t know if I count towards this subject

Frozen waffles and string cheese. My kids don’t eat nearly the amount of junk that I ate as a kid.
