re: Kiffin blasts Les Miles on Le Batard

What I don't understand about Kiffin is everyone (including himself) acts like he averaged 45 ppg at Bama. His offenses averaged 36 his three years at Bama. Les's last three full years LSU averaged 31. I'm not saying a five point difference is statistically insignificant but the way everyone talks Alabama averaged 40 PPG and LSU 20.
Funny you say this. We are family friends with a player who graduated last year. He said that Cam Cameron was a very good coach but somewhat aloof and that his cancer was much more serious than anyone knew. He said Cameron was really pissed at Harris early last year because Harris had a GPA in the very low 2.0s and Harris couldn't check anything at the LOS, which is critical in Cameron's offense. He said Harris just couldn't do it and that's why the offense looked so different when Etling started playing. He said they were forced to be incredibly simple because despite being articulate Harris was horrible in the classroom, academic and athletic. Thought it was interesting and this guy's a straight shooter. Also said Miles's control over the offense's practice time and plan was significant and it frustrated Cameron. All that to say, intellect can play a big factor.

I know this won't go over well but here is the running game drop off the year after Cam Cameron leaves an offense. I'm not saying Cameron's a great play caller by any stretch but he's always been able to orchestrate a high-powered running game. Yes, he's had some great backs but their numbers unequivocally go down after he leaves.
Ravens
2012 - 118.8 (4.3 ypc)
2013 - 83.0 (3.1 ypc)
Ray Rice rushed for 257-1,143-9TD-4.4 ypa in 2012. In 2013 he rushed for 660 yards, 4TDs, 3.1 ypc.
Dolphins
2007 - 98.1 yards per game (4.0 ypc)
2008 - 118.6 yards per game (4.2 ypc)
Ronnie Brown was leading the entire NFL in total yards from scrimmage when he blew out his knee in game 7 during Cameron's only season. He was averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Year prior to Cameron's arrival, he averaged 4.2 yards per carry.
Chargers
2006 - 161.1 yards per game (4.9 ypc)
2007 - 127.4 yards per game (4.2 ypc)
In 2006, Tomlinson rushed for 1,815 yards and 28 TDS with 5.2 yards per carry
In 2007 (1st year without Cameron), he rushed for 1474 yards, 15TDs, and 4.7 yards per carry
Indiana
2001 - 269.5 yards per game (5.5 ypc)
2002 - 116.5 yards per game (3.2 ypc)

Unfortunately, I think it already is.
re: Esminger >>>>>>>>Canada

The Esminger offense, with a few wrinkles, was the Cameron offense with a developing Etling. Offense was bad against Auburn and Wisconsin prior to the firing but both of those defenses ended up top 10 in the country.
I think the biggest concern is the falloff in big plays in the running game this year. Say what you want about Cameron's passing game woes/QB development at LSU but his offenses have always put up really big rushing numbers with explosive plays in the run game wherever he's been.

Aranda's office is already 3/4s packed.
Alleva thinks he can control CEO
Posted by trooploop on 11/26/16 at 9:10 am
Alleva managed this search in self protection mode. He knew bringing on Herman or Jimbo would have limited his perceived clout. LSU on probation within 3 years. That will be the crown jewel on Alleva's legacy.

He gone
Aranda's not staying.
How soon before LSU on probation?
Posted by trooploop on 11/26/16 at 9:01 am
I give it three years tops.
Aranda's gone.
If OC going to be the key hire, who is going to be the DC?
re: How did O even get the interim job?
Posted by trooploop on 11/26/16 at 8:55 am to RedStickBR
Because administrators think he's cute. He's a backstabber. Aranda is gone.

Aranda's gone.
So is Aranda gone?
Posted by trooploop on 11/26/16 at 8:44 am
I'd have to think so.
Wait until they install a different offense next year and won't even be able to run the ball.
re: O NEEDS A TOP NOTCH OC

He got records against crap defenses. That was the only difference in the offense.
re: Post-game Comments by DeSean Smith Are Telling..

I think Cam is a good offensive coordinator. To be honest I didn't buy into the Les not letting OCs do their job argument but I admit being wrong.
I saw Smith's quotes as being a much greater indictment of Les than Cam when he says the playbook is the same but "Coach O let's Emsinger do his job."
That was very telling to me.

Surprisingly, the feeling up here is more "Meh" than I would have thought. They have a real thing for their own Camp Randall. Surprisingly, it is the first time they have ever played in Lambeau. I think they are still excited to play there, but it is not something that seems to have them really wound up.
I would have agreed with not believing him but for some reason it's actually true. One of my co-worker's sons go to UW. They are huge sports fans and it's really the reason they chose to attend UW over other schools. Neither are making the trip. I was shocked. I know that's anecdotal but from what I'm hearing it's not unusual. I don't get it.

Pull that scholarship and send him packing baby!
That's an easy answer. When he's your best player and 15 players follow him out the door, then what do you do?
