It's honestly not your fault. You've been raised and nurtured to believe that the white man does everything to keep you under thumb make sure you continue to feel inferior.
It's hard to think critically and challenge these notions when to do so, you would have to recognize and admit that the narrative you've been sold your entire life was a complete lie.

Maybe for the Tract homes, but where I live in Baldwin county with an hvac co and a home design company, we’ve never been busier with new home construction.
I'm not talking about tract homes. I'm talking about high-end custom builds in south Louisiana. I recognize things may be different in Alabama since there is no announced ice operation happening there. But there is one happening here and roundups at construction sites are happening daily in New Orleans.
Residential construction issues

I'm hearing that residential construction is basically shutting down for a bit in Nola/BR due to the ICE sweeps with workers hiding. Anyone seeing this?

I'm sure it will be great for a year before it closes. BR does not have the disposable income density to support $40 pizzas. It's not enough that a bunch of us will eat there and love it. Places like this need population density to survive. BR doesn't have it.

This is the correct answer if you really want to enjoy the park. If it's just you or you and one other, it's totally worth it to pay 600 bucks and not have to think about anything other than where you want to get your next drink and where you want to go next knowing that there will be no wait for you.
If you have a big family, it's a big number. So I understand not getting it if you are visiting with a family of five.
But I enjoy nice things. And I'm willing to pay to have a great day.
When I went last month, we walked in whenever we wanted, grabbed a coffee, walked leisurely around the park, and waited in no lines. As I walked past hours and hours of lines, I could not help but think in my head that it was the best $600 we had ever spent.

It would be a massively underwhelming hire. One playoff appearance in the washed out little 12, and an unranked current team does not qualify you for the job at LSU.
You clearly don't understand hiring football coaches. A guy who does way more than he should be doing at a particular institution is exactly the sort of coach who is ready to step up in weight class. Dillingham, Matt Campbell, etc. They are great coaches. It's the model that got you Nick Saban and Les Miles and 2 national championships.

this doesn't make sense. High schools are not funding NIL deals. There is nothing to match. An NIL deal is an NIL deal and has nothing to do with what high school someone attends.

re: Trump is defying the court order, telling Dems he's not sending out any SNAP at all now
Posted by Ex-Popcorn on 11/4/25 at 12:35 pm to Victor R Franko
There is no SNAP program. There was a SNAP program in fiscal year 2025 because Congress acted and appropriated funds for the program. But we are in fiscal year 2026 and the Dems won't allow for funding of the program. Thus, no appropriation. No program.

There has been no CR passed so there is no longer a SNAP program. Therefore no funds can be sent out
This is 100% the correct take. We are in FY 2026 now...there is no appropriation for SNAP. It does not exist until Congress appropriates money for such a program.
re: Judge rules Trump admin must pay SNAP benefits regardless of shut down
Posted by Ex-Popcorn on 10/31/25 at 2:51 pm to weedGOKU666

The whole argument revolves around how you interpret the legal language around this contingency fund.
But the language is not ambiguous. Here's what it says:
"There is hereby appropriated to remain available without fiscal year limitation such sums as may be necessary for a contingency reserve to be used to make allotments to States to pay benefits under this chapter in any fiscal year to the extent that the amounts appropriated for such fiscal year under section (a) are insufficient to pay such benefits"
The important and unambiguous language is in bold. As of November 1, 2025, we are in fiscal year 2026. And the dems shut down the government with NO appropriation whatsoever for FY 2026 as it relates to SNAP benefits. Thus, the contingency fund, by its own terms, does not apply.
And, it makes sense. There has to be an underlying appropriation to use contingency. Why? Because Congress right now is perfectly within its power and right to terminate SNAP altogether and not fund it going forward. That would mean that SNAP would not exist for fiscal year 2026. If SNAP does not exist for FY 2026, then you can't use contingency to fund a program that does not exist.
So, what this judge is REALLY doing is ruling that Congress must fund SNAP in the future. And, if Congress funds SNAP in FY 2026, then there would be a contingency fund available. That's the real issue with this ruling. The judge is making legislation from the bench that, as of today, does not exist and may never exist.
