as a guy who always has updated registration, insurance and inspection sticker I don't understand why people cry about this crap. frick we wlive in a state where almost half aren't insured you should be happy.
You can’t get an inspection sticker with a crack in your windshield. New requirements are anything over a quarter size, I think is an automatic fail.
My wife has a windshield crack. I’m not paying $1000/yr get a new windshield so she can get an inspection sticker

I just drove past them. Don't have a sticker and didn't get stopped. The cop was marked in the middle of Highland closer to CCLA and didn't seem to be very engaged with his work. Another cop had someone pulled over underneath I10
Everytime the traffic stopped for a red light, they would come out the gas station and walked down the middle looking and pointing people into the gas station

re: Daycare board - Any experience with FCA?
Posted by Taffeta on 5/8/25 at 12:26 pm
My son has been there from infant to the 2 year old class.
Previous comments are accurate. They have some solid teachers in the most of the classes, but have had turnover and trouble getting quality teachers for others. K1 being the toughest.
We are leaving this summer for k3 at a different school. We took a tour of k3 and k4 at FCA and were not impressed. Other schools are doing STEM and Art and FCA is just more daycare.

re: Catch basin drainage installation question

Solid pipe doesn’t need filter fabric or rocks
I would do solid sch 40 pvc over solid corrugated
Bury the pipe 8-12” in the ground
Put rocks under the catch basins.. if you are worried about the catch basins sinking, you can always concrete them in. Here is my yard

I agree
Roto Rooter is operated well in BR.
The other franchises (Nola/lake Charles/lafayette) not so much

Had to build a bigger store because all of the demand from Braxton and Jaxson’s travel ball needs.

You ok with buying used to save money?
What size screen do you want? 14" 15" or bigger?
The best value is used business class computers. Dell or Lenovo's. Most of the computers you find at BestBuy are overpriced. Really no need to buy something more expensive unless you have a specific use case. 500gb SSD's, 16gb RAM, plenty of power for what you listed.
Lenovo T14 Gen 2
Lenovo T495s

re: latest CAD nonsense - adding an outdoor plug

I just ran an outdoor outlet for a sump pump.
I used 3/4” conduit to protect the wire as it was only buried about 12” deep. I used UF-B wire. Had to buy the whole roll as the supply house didn’t have enough to sell to me by the ft.
Where you located?

Currently $760/mo - 2 year old.
Next year we are moving to a PreK3 program… $13k/yr with summer off like a normal school schedule. So ~$1,300/mo

My neighbors reasoning is that his pool was approved by the HOA and EBR as pools must be approved via permitting by the parish.
I didnt feel like going through a fight with him and EBR permitting. I don't have faith in EBR Parish Government to fix my problems. I also dont know what 5 houses down looks like. They may be built up also.
I will be emitting water into the street in front of his driveway. The water will flow naturally to a storm drain, so I am not shedding water onto his property. He will just have a puddle in front of his driveway until it naturally flows away.

Here is my current situation.
I moved into my house roughly 3 years ago and water flows down the rear of my property line through my neighbors lot down to the next neighbor and so on all the way to the end of the neighborhood. There is a 5 foot servitude in all of our backyards specifically for drainage by EBR.
My immediate neighbor put in a pool 5+ years ago and built up the rear of their property, so the water stagnates at back of my property and creates a flood in my yard. The 8' of property is a mudpit for me. The water has nowhere to go but sit in my yard for weeks after a rain event. The neighbor refuses to do anything about it.
I am putting in a sump pump system to move this water to the front of my property directly in front of their driveway. In about a week this will be finished and they will find out actions have consequences.
Running ~150ft of discharge piping for a total cost of ~$4000. Happy to help you solve your problems :)
