I've been here since 2005 and there's never been a time that the stupid threads stopped.
Based on O's comments during the presser, Brennan isn't there yet.

You have to wonder, if he isn't there yet in his 3rd year on campus...he might never get there.
O said a lot of the 2nd string OL was out, so guys that aren't usually in the 2-deep were playing.

So it's possible most of the sacks came against 3rd string or walk on OL guys.

Would like to know how the 1st string OL did in terms of sacks.
O said in his presser that Stingley had a good return.

Bo Pelini was under rated.

Gary Crowton did his usual of being good the first year and worse each succeeding year. Would have been a much better hire if Les had fired him after the BCSCG the first season.

Buddy of mine is a Texas fan. When Diaz was the DC there, he would always call him "_iaz". You know, because there's no "D" in his game.

Said he may have been ok in the SEC, but in a pass happy Big 12 his schemes were a disaster.

Miami was exposed against the pass the last 3 games of last year. We're going to a passing offense this year.

That's about the best I can do.

"Hope is the last thing to die".
"I can't believe something this bizarre was actually put into words on the rant"

You haven't been here very long, then.
The delusions of fans before the first kickoff of the year is a wonderful thing.

I can't wait to read message boards Sunday morning when reality sets in.

And for the record, I would actually like Auburn to beat Clemson for a couple of reasons as an LSU fan (helps our SOS and hurts a potential CFP team). But I saw Steele take LSU from 1st in the SEC in passer QB rating defense to 12th in a single season.

Good luck guys. Don't say we didn't tell you so.
Clemson is familiar with Steele. His last game as DC at Clemson, WVU put 70 points on them.

Why Les Miles hired him is beyond me, but I'm sure glad he's at Auburn now.

Clemson probably gonna put 50 on Auburn this weekend.
Diarse had 13 catches last year at LSU.

TCU starts 4 WR, and Diarse is in the two-deep, meaning he's somewhere between 5th and 8th on the WR rotation.

Last year TCU's #5 through 8 WRs caught 19, 14, 10, and 11 passes.

Not necessarily a slam dunk he catches a lot more passes at TCU this year than he would have if he had stayed with LSU.

re: Power surge damaged appliances

You're correct about lightning. Protection at the incoming power panel will protect you from utility surges (such as a lighting strike external to your house), but if the lighting hits your house, it won't protect your items. The protection has to be right at the device to protect from a localized strike.
So, you're saying the guy who gave up 70 points to WVU is the solution to this problem?

thanks, you made me laugh out loud with that post. Caught me by surprise...

I've been on the Rant since about 2005 I think, and most of my 2000 or so posts here came by 2007. In fact I had trouble remembering my password to make this post...

Basketball I think is going to be a lot like the Dale Brown era. Recruit lots of talent, mediocre coaching, some decent runs in the tournament on the right year. I'm good with that. LSU isn't a traditional basketball power so I don't see us ending up with a Rizzo, Calipari, etc. of the elite programs.

Baseball - one of the top programs. We got spoiled by Bert...we're still really good though.

Football - can drive you nuts. Les Miles is one of the top coaches in the country, the problem is, he isn't Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. I remember some of the horrific hires in the 80s and 90s so I know what the next coach might be like. I do hope getting Orgeron will help with the Dline...still worried about Steele as DC. I think Cam will fix the QB problem in time...but LSU's QB problems since 2007 are maddening. I'm in the pro-Miles camp even though he drives me nuts sometimes. This is a huge year for Miles...much like 2010 was. I hope they turn it around and then make a run next year for the title.
I travel a lot, and some times I get the same reaction. Several times people have told me they just like the colors, that's why they wear the hat, not because they are really LSU fans.

Oh, and more than once I've been overseas, threw one of my LSU hats on because it was a sunny day, and got a "Geaux Tigers" that completely threw me because I forgot about what hat I was wearing. One time I looked around trying to figure out who he was talking to. Then I remembered the hat and we chatted about home for a bit.

Thanks for posting, that was a nice highlight video.
Refer to Auburn 2010 for your answers.

Malzahn's offense with Cam Newton was a downhill, pulling guards, power rushing offense. If they made a first down, they usually went hurry up for the rest of that drive (but only after making the first first down, to give their D a rest if they didn't make the first one).

Their power run offense didn't look like ours does, but that's what it was.
OL and LB, as others have stated. Losing a couple of starters, one at each spot this fall camp hasn't helped.

The DE Fields being suspended is a big blow also, especially for their pass rush.
Thanks, those are the best videos I've seen so far of the spring game. Really good job.
