Yes we would protect it. We also wouldn’t attempt to provoke a much larger country military wise then us and hope the rest of the continent would pinch in a little maybe and maybe help prevent it from happening.

If Ukraine separated the US and Russia. Russia wouldn’t even look blink towards Ukraine. Even after the afghan withdrawal. But with the weaken economics and military of the EU. Putin knew they couldn’t and wouldn’t offer much help.
