I’ll ask you to please shut up as well. Intelligent responses to these unintelligent posts are not worth the time. So, please shut up.
This is more of a theoretical discussion, but having to play a P5 team first game of the season, and especially losing it, seems to put a major strain on the season.

Maybe LSU is still playing the way they are now if they win that game, but losing puts you down in the count from the start. There’s a cloud on the team from the start, that takes a lot of effort, and mental energy to break out from under. They win 6 strait games, which took a lot of all hands on deck to pull off. It’s hard to keep that level going. Then when things go wrong, they went really wrong, and maybe there’s no way to pull out of it quickly. That bullet was out of the gun in the 6 game winning streak.

It should would be good to win the first game and start 1-0, instead of 0-1 and on thin ice playoff wise right off the bat. It may be worth it to get out of these “premier” opening weekend games coming up, because they don’t help, and can only hurt. Short term and long term season wise.

Same with every other team! Every SEC team has 3-4 wins against rent a win schools. Bama just beat Mercer, Ole Miss beat up on what might as well be D2 teams in their first 4 games. At least LSU beat a Big 10 team (UCLA) this year, and been willing to play tough out of conference games.

He could donate his paycheck from this year to NIL.

I’m pretty certain that coaches are not allowed to do that.
It has everything to do with money.

There will be a cap on revenue share next year, and the ground rules will change overall.
Yes is disappointing, sucks, gut punch that Underwood flipped. HOWEVER, this sport is more like the NFL now more than ever. Will be even more so next year when revenue sharing kicks in. College teams will have to take a balanced approach and not overpay for one player. The collectives are shooting all the ammo they have to get kids in this class, and before July 2025.

Not getting Underwood sucks, but Hurley is legit, Nuss will be a 5th yr sr next year, and LSU has the funds to go get some hired assassins in the portal. Or at least they have the opportunity to take the BU money and go get them. He would help for sure, but like the NFL, one player doesn’t produce wins. Ask Burrow and Chase this year. Have to have a very good QB AND elite OL & DL to have the success that we all want.
And we should all be happy about it, and excited about the opportunity. This new format is going to allow for a 2 loss, and in unique situations a 3 loss team into the playoff. It has nothing to do with “deserving” or if it’s “bad for the SEC”. The days of having to go undefeated or 1 loss are over. You can lose 2-3 games and still get it, and it’s just the way it’s going to be. At least we still have a possibility. Get in , try to win SECCG and see what happens.
Who cares if it’s a travesty? If we make it we make it, the heck with what’s best for the SEC or College Football. Other teams lose, the SEC is most likely going to end up with only 1, 1 loss team, and several 2 loss teams will make the playoffs.
Ott is a detriment to the show. He constantly interrupts Hanny. Disagrees with things that Hanny didn’t say, takes over and tanks conversations that were going in a good direction. The icing on the cake is that he’s a one upper and a know it all.

Hanny is the best LSU media commentator/podcaster/host by a mile. He’s unfortunately paired with the worst one on this show.
Trying to be objective, and no emotion:

1. Re-building a program that coach O neglected and drove into a bad place. No secret there, but it was bad. Not an easy task.

2. Made a couple of miscalculations on staff, and in recruiting.

3. The transfer portal & NIL systems are still in the infancy stage as far as how long they’ve been around. Most of us don’t know what we don’t know about it, cycles, what works best, letting some trial and error play out to get methods for success. So, BK like many coaches are still figuring out the best process. He’s one of the coaches that I’d say will be in the top tier in that category when it’s said and done.

All in all , I’d give him an “A-“ as of today, with the chance of it going to “A” or down to a “B” depending on if LSU goes 10-2 or 9-3 this season.
After all that yesterday, LSU will be 4-1, in the top 10, hosting Ole Miss after a bye. That game is winnable, and the sky isn’t falling. Lots to improve on, no doubt, and will need some good breaks along the way, but this team has an outside chance of being 10-2. It's a more likely scenario than 2022, after getting blown out by Tennessee for an early season second loss.

SEC could be wide open, there are no juggernauts, at least it seems that way at this point.
Exactly. Plus, he’s not going to retroactively commit Title IX infractions in addition to the ones LSU is dealing with now.

The dude is the Steve Spurrier we wished we’d hired in the 80s. Energy, system, confidence, and has command of the English language.
He messed up , and his name has been taboo to mention for anything in the SEC. However, I’d die on the hill of Hugh Freeze at LSU would light it up. Like steamroller. The dude can coach, would have the offense locked down and would have the funds at his disposal to have good DCs and be able to replace them when they move on.

He’s also probably the one HC coach in the past 10 years in the SEC that actually put fear into Saban. So much so Saban had a vendetta against him/OM and we’re the ones that reported them on the recruiting stuff that everyone does, hired former OM GAs to help his defense , and publicly whined about the way offenses were going during the years Freeze was giving him fits.

If you can make the angry elf squirm that’s good enough for me, and puts you in a different category than all of the others. Plus he can recruit and coach QBs.

But let all the downvotes commence as I know this isn’t a popular opinion. There just isn’t a better coach out there for what everyone is wishing for.
We're all hypocrites.....
