re: CBS ranks the NBA Front Offices

In order to get the No. 23 overall pick that they also sent to Atlanta, New Orleans had to trade the Indiana Pacers control over their own 2026 pick back. They made that trade during the 2025 NBA Finals. While Tyrese Haliburton was still playing. There was nothing to gain and everything to lose by making that trade before Indiana's season ended, and the Pelicans were punished for their recklessness by Haliburton's torn Achilles. They traded the No. 5 pick in 2026 for the No. 23 pick in 2025, and then packaged the No. 23 pick in 2025 with No. 8 in 2026 for No. 13 in 2025.

Why does everyone assume that the Pacers would have made that trade a month later?

Love this idea.. People from Lafayette might stay home and Cajuns attendance would jump 50%.... from 6k to 9k

I always wonder if stores like Marhsalls, TJ Maxx, etc play in part in killing the brand recognition of these legacy Brands like Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc.

Academy has big brand (Nike, Under Armour, etc) hooded sweatshirts that routinely push $50-60+. Then you turn around the Academy brand is $19.99.

People know that it's all the same Chinese crap and you're paying for the swoosh on the front. They fade, shrink, and deteriorate just as fast as the cheap shite you get from Shein.

Why bother paying a premium for a logo?

If I need some athletic shorts, why the frick would I pay $29.99 for one pair of Nike shorts when I can get three pairs from Amazon for the same price?

Welp... good luck
When the first half ended they interviewed Angel to get her thoughts on her play, and she said "Yeah, I played like shite"..

I did a double take and wondered if I actually heard that

Wtf are these idiots doing
Look at the comments from reporters and players during camp.. He's "twitchy", "explosive", "changes direction so fast", etc..

Every word they used to describe him could be listed in the "how to pull a hamstring" cookbook.

Some players don't deal with it, he obviously does.

Nobody said they were garbage.. they said it was stupid to scoff at having the Pels on opening night as if they are beneath you, when you just finished a 19 win season.

So if we do nothing at all, we likely end up in the lottery, drop Poole and Hawkins and clear $40m off the books, try to extend Bey, and go into next year with a rookie and Zion's $42m expiring?

To abort a 39 wk fetus the doctor has to kill the infant in the womb before it is aborted. This is as sick as it gets. How do these people who perform these procedures sleep at night?

Not disagreeing with you.. Just saying its a third-rail issue because you cant take the position of never allowing it ever at any time, but if you dont it opens the window for interpretation and ambiguity, which sicko doctors will use time and time again to do it

I was watching something about Frist Blooe and they talked about how Sly changed the story and that really helped it become a movie.

His comments about the original script are really funny.. believe it was on Howard Stern

He's fighting for survival in the woods, then randomly decides to shoot an owl.. then was supposed to say "TAKE THAT YOU MOUSE-MUNCHING MOTHER frickER!"
We went to the one in Nashville in July.. it's pretty awesome.

Indoors, not 100 degrees. Cupholders at every hole and you can order from anywhere on the course and they'll bring your drinks or food to you. Three different 18 hole courses of increasing difficulty. Huge TV screens that auto-detect big putts, tough misses, people celebrating, etc, so your kids can see themselves drain a 20 footer on the jumbotron.

Priced high enough to keep the trash out

My kids said it was better than TopGolf because they're not able to hit the ball very far at Top Golf so they don't feel like they're doing very good

From a devil's advocate point of view, I can understand the logic that telling a mom at 39 weeks that "if you deliver this baby you will die, but you have to deliver it" is a problem. Basically you're forced to kill yourself to save the baby -- although I don't know many mothers that would choose otherwise.

On the other hand, it's just another slippery slope where you doctor shop until you find some frickface that will say "the stress of having a newborn at home might kill her" and poof, they're justified in terminating.
