re: The good ole office staff donation/collection?

Just straight up asking for cash? Or asking you to buy something to support a fundraiser?
I'd have a problem with co-workers just coming up to me asking for cash or donations for all kinds of random shite. Deaths would be one thing, but the rest they need to go ask their family and friends, not co-workers....or start a GoFundMe.
But if they're actually selling something (chocolates, Girl Scout cookies, candy, etc) for school, club, or sports team fundraiser then I always try to buy at least one box to help out....helping a good cause and gives me something to snack on at my desk.
I'd flat out refuse...who goes around asking for donations to fund a vacation? Only exception is if the teacher/spouse/child was diagnosed with a terminal illness and only had a short time to live, then I'd donate.

If this is an annual occurrence to need to cut hours/staff every December-January....
Let 2 employees go. Better to only affect 2 employees by letting go the 2 least productive ones than to piss off everybody by cutting their hours by 20%. Not sure what industry you're in, but might cause you to lose good workers if they start looking elsewhere after you cut their hours.
Plus, when business picks up again and you need to re-hire, you can hire new employees that don't have 7 weeks PTO grandfathered into their employment contracts. And just let new employees know up front that they'll be furloughed around this time of the year and advise them to look for seasonal job. Plenty of Christmas related seasonal work they can pickup for a month or 2.

Wait....is that really SCSA helping you tape it out? I didn't notice the Broken Skull hat until everyone else started commenting about SC and it does look pretty Stone Cold-ish to hunt in camo shorts

Kids toys today are cool but for my generation, when we got a new video game for Christmas, we grabbed an extra controller and rode our bike to our friends house and hung out in person to play instead of playing with a bunch of fricking strangers online

Whether you agree with him or not, whenever Mike Rowe comments on political issues, he's always got a lengthy, well informed, thought out reasoning and explanation for his position on an issue.
re: McKnight shooter had previous road rage incident and simple battery 11 years ago
Posted by chris504 on 12/2/16 at 8:34 pm
Because unless it was clearly a self defense case, why would you turn loose the shooter in a homicide investigation? If it turns out that it wasn't self defense and investigators believe it was murder, then what happens if he skips town before he can be arrested? I'm not saying he should've been detained indefinitly, but someone had mentioned that the law allows police to detain someone for up to 48 hours before they have to either be formally charged or released....why wouldn't the police at least use those 48 hours instead of releasing him within just a few hours while there's still so much thats unknown about exactly what happened
re: McKnight shooter had previous road rage incident and simple battery 11 years ago

Regardless of the self defense angle that Gasser may be claiming, the fact that he had a prior arrest for assaulting someone in a road rage incident should've been a sign to JPSO that they should detain this guy for 48 hours or whatever limit of time the law allows without charges to give as much time as possible for investigators to put the facts together. Even more so considering the scrutiny that such a high profile case would be receiving

But seriously, just go for it. I find it unlikely that a girl suddenly starts talking to you so much unless she's got some level of interest. If you're unsure, invite her to go somewhere thats usually a date type place or event. If you live around NOLA, take her to Celebration in the Oaks at City Park and go walking through all the Christmas lights with her and when the opportunity is there, try to hold her hand. If she gives you an awkward look or asks what you're doing, you're friend zoned. If she makes smiles and looks you in the eyes, go for it
Good luck and pics

I got lost over there after the Bama game because I forgot what street I had parked on. Seemed ok when I parked there because lots of people were. But walking around there at 11pm by myself with no one else in sight for almost an hour looking for my car :scared:
re: witness that LIED about shooter needs to rot
Posted by chris504 on 12/2/16 at 6:11 pm
If the witness' story is a lie, I hope she could be prosecuted for it but its unlikely because as far as I know, its not against the law to lie to the media. Now if she made that same statement to police, then it would be different

re: What will it seriously take to clean up New Orleans and it's senseless crime?
Posted by chris504 on 12/2/16 at 7:27 am
Judges need to stop giving slap on the wrist sentences for violent crimes and gun crimes.
Stop being a welfare state. You have 5 kids from 4 different men...goverment isnt going to pay for everything so you can sit at home all day and keep popping out more kids that you're just going to let run the streets. If you aren't employed full time or doing 40 hours a week in community service, welfare gets cut off
Stop and frisk

Must not have been to any westbank McD's.
Forgot about Wendys though, the ones around me are equally shitty as McD and BK. My local Taco Bell is pretty good though and Cane's employees are usually next best fast food workers behind Chick Fil a

The one by me has a pretty diverse racial makeup. But every single one of the workers are polite and work efficiently. And they all have well kept appearances. Polar opposite of McDonalds or BK.
Its like Chick Fil A hires all the honor roll type students while other fast food places hire the 8th grade dropouts.
